I have a Streamlight Polytac bedside, along with a cheap piece of junk. The cheapo is for everything but this scenario (so I don't kill the battery in my Polytac).

It may sound funny, but I also plan to put on my Fenix Headlamp for an extra 275 lumens in the event in the event I have to go complete hands free.

I've thought about this also, but I worry that if the disturbance turns out to be worst case scenario, I've just put a bright target identifier on my forehead......

Fair enough, I guess any flashlight could draw the fire of your enemy. That's why I'm a fan of overwhelming them with so much light their eyeballs bleed and they pray you shoot them just to end the pain.

As far as what light do I grab in the middle of the night... I just get up, wipe the sleep out of my eyes, turn on the light and see who, or what's left of whoever, the dog is eating. I call either the police and/or coroner accordingly then go back to bed and wait for them to arrive while the dog finishes her midnight snack...
