I have a pile of the 2-D cell Maglights and swear by them. I buy the LED conversion bulbs and get super battery life out of them. I also use many Maglight 2AA flashlights and convert them to LED as well. Battery life is so long that I date the batteries so I can trash them after a year or two. Surprisingly, I ended up with a pile of Harbor Freight 9LED flashlights and use them for working on cars & bikes. I have one in every tool box and tool bag. They are cheap and work great.
