Yepper, much of my dad's family was from Sour Lake. My sister lived in Saratoga for several years.
Spent much of my youth hunting in The Big Thicket in one unit or another.

What's your sister's name? You can pm it if you want. I probably know her. Everybody there knows me. Probably 1/3 of the town are relictives in one way or another.

The TSRA is already looking out for my gun rights.

The two organizations, LSCDL & TSRA, have different objectives. That doesn't mean they can't work together though. I see three ways they can get along: work together for people's rights; ignore each other; or fight against each other. I pray the last option doesn't come to pass.

And there's no reason why a person couldn't be a member of both.

My newly elected state rep from Texarkana had this to say:

I'm a strong supporter of gun rights, and I understand the 2nd Amendment to clearly state that our right to bear arms shall not be abridged. I'm opposed to all laws that infringe on that right.

I will work with the NRA and the TSRA to pass open carry. While I see nothing constitutional about having a license to carry arms, that will be hard to pass, but I'm game to try.

Well he seems to me like a good sponsor for some of LSCDL's proposed legislation. There are no doubt other like minded individuals in the texas legislature though.
