There's been some talk in the thread at http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/...t-another-open-carry-thread-1.html#post189614 about starting a Texas Citizens Defense League, similar to the Arizona Citizens Defense League.

We'd be starting from scratch, but would have the support of the AZCDL and possibly other state CDL's. The original goal would be to push for open carry, but all other gun related legislation would be fought for - including parking lot carry, campus carry, repealing the 51% provision, etc.

Hell yeah, sign me up! Between work and trying out some new business ventures, not too sure how much help I can be, but any is better than nothing. Through places like this website, website events, etc you can start getting the name out there once you have something setup. There are a lot of useful connections to be made just doing those things alone. The capability to effect such changes is out there, it's just figuring out how to harness it that will be the tough part.

I'm all in. If you're serious about it, i'm sure the guys at AZCDL would love to help. It wouldn't hurt getting ahold of Texas State Rifle Association and seeing if they would be interested in helping as well. I know there are a lot of members there that would be very interested in joining/helping out with getting this going

    Hell yeah. I'm in.

I think the state legislation is more important, thus we could end up like commiefornia. The national stuff like awbs and the ATF need to put to an end by the NRA NATIONAL rifle association. From what I've heard around here the impression i have gotten of the TSRA is a bunch of rude fuckjobs on a powertrip that treat their members like shit. Maybe we need a new Texas gun organization.

I'm 100% in. We need to come up with a name for the organization and find out how to register it with the state.

Alan may know where to go from here too.

How about starting with some name suggestions?

I like Texas Gun Owners Alliance because it allows for a lot of different gun ownership content, and not just gun rights.

I'd certainly like to hear from anybody else that has a name.
