Drained my oil catch can…these Gen V LT motors with direct injection should have come with one from the factory IMHO

These new fangled direct injection motors gum up intakes (especially the top side of the valve) as bad as diesels. It may be an artifact of fully sealed systems with part and full load crankcase venting pulling way more vapor out of the bottom end.

Come to think of it, diesels intakes are way more "ashy" these gas motors get gummed up with tar.

The previous generation L-series engines are worse. I have a catch can on my 2007. The newest version of the Duramax does not look ashy inside...they're gummy and greasy. It's so bad they commonly clog the MAP sensor.

On a recent drive my Spider started making a terrible noise and misfiring anytime I gave it more than 1/4 throttle. Turns out an ignition coil failed, and only at 8,000 miles :(

Oh well, good excuse to upgrade!

Good ol’ Italian electronics. At least they’re better than Lucas.

You mean American electronics? That is a Mopar logo on the failed coil ;)

Well, I took the wife's 2022 Honda to the stealership yesterday. 432 miles on the odometer and the center infotainment center and front usb plugs are dead. No control over any settings including climate control, backup camera, etc. The head unit is dead. Waiting for a call on Monday to see if the unit is easily sourced or whether it comes on a slow boat from China.

I really hate manufacturers putting things like climate control into the touch screens. It's infuriating and counter intuitive. Hopefully you can get a replacement soon. The so called "chip shortage" is mostly for those horrid touch screen control centers.
