Very rare for TABC to determine a place with a food and beverage permit is a 51% location. I seem to recall TABC changed their regulatory position on this during COVID or in conjunction with HB1927. I’ve researched it a few times to find the underlying language, but it’s buried in the rules for TABC and not the actual code I think.

Chili’s might throw up a red sign at their bar, but it ain’t valid.

Yeah, pretty much. If there's any kind of decent food menu it's not likely to be a 51% location.

Let’s say hypothetically you find yourself in a 51% bar, even temporarily, and you forget to leave your CCW, but some shit goes down and youre the only “good guy” that can stop an active shooter. If you successfully save everyone lives by taking down the shooter with lethal force, would you still be charged a felony and taken to jail for carrying in one of these locations?
Assuming the use of deadly force is justified, (which given the poor judgment evidenced in the question is doubtful) you'll be looking at a felony for possession in a prohibited location and a wide open door to civil liability.

    Good for him.

Probably not, considering that he's asking about consequences for trying to be a hero. Jail time is the likely outcome for any situation where his carry piece comes into play. If he wants to carry at 18, then he needs to get his LTC...and oddly enough, the questions he's asking will likely be answered in the class.

Whatever the circumstances, carrying in a 51% marked location is a felony. If the OP actually takes a Texas LTC class, he'll be told that.
In another thread he claims to carry a Ruger LCP daily...while in yet another thread he states that he's 18 and is looking to take the LTC class.
he's making things up as he goes along for whatever reason and is hoping nobody notices.

Yeah, his specific scenario is pretty stupid. He should probably just ask his grandpa for advice instead.
