    See below.

Alright boys and girls. I haven't done one of these in a while, but I figured I'd give you a heads up on some changes coming and get some feedback from ya'll.

    Feedback (Please Answer the Following)

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for? Buy, Sell, hear peoples opinions, share opinions of my own.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk? I really miss the entertainment I got from the drama of the politics section, otherwise all good.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why? NAGDT, other than the aforementioned politics section.

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do? Nope, I like it. Don't change a thing IMO.

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here? All forums are a bit different. I like the niche that this one has. It would be nice if we could have less moderation like Silencertalk. But the people here don't seem to enjoy flame wars that much and there are a lot more flamers here than there.

    6) Have you liked us on Facebook? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas-Gun-Talk/218938131470011 Yes

    7) Have you followed us on Twitter? @TexasGunTalk - https://twitter.com/#!/TexasGunTalk I don't Twitter

    8) Have you subscribed to us on YouTube? TexasGunTalk - YouTube I think so, I will check.

    9) Have you linked to me on LinkedIn? http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=132821840 No I don't really use it other than for work.

    10) Have you +1'd us on Google+? https://plus.google.com/u/0/112479625691072207779 No, I don't really use it.

    Changes

    1) I'm working to improve the user experience and usability of the forum. I'm going to be making changes to the advertising system to help speed up the site for mobile and those of us not on broadband. This has the side effect of being more advantageous for the advertisers as well. The first step of this was taken a few months ago when we migrated to a faster server.

    2) I've rolled out a commission system for anyone whom wants to make some side-cash. More info can be found here: http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/announcements-comments/34143-make-extra-cash-support-tgt.html

    3) I purchased some additional software to integrate Facebook as well as mobile versions of the site for iOS (Apple) and Android. I will be rolling these out as soon as I can get the uploaded and setup.

Get together with the guys from BoomerShooter up in Oklahoma and BayouShooter over in Louisiana and form a regional forum together. Nobody enjoys the national forums as much as the local forums because all the anonymous a$$holes on the big boards drive away the newbies. Everyone participates more on a smaller stage. Let's do this!

I like tapatalk so much that it is the only way I bother to iew a forum now. Pretty much stopped looking at the forums that don't have it.

That said, i haven't been able to get in that way this weekend. Did we get hacked again or just forget to reload the module after an upgrade?

FWIW. Don't do sicial media at all after having a couple of bad experiences on facebook

same here, i wont go anywhere that doesnt have tapatalk. but to answer your question, no. anytime there is an admin/mod forced read thread tapatalk stops working until you get on the site and read it through the browser. then its back to normal on tapatalk.

    1. General entertainment value, research on products -- either new or existing, price comparison, and to stay on top of any new legislation that may be coming down the pipe.

    2. Don't know about his one. The site is pretty complete. Maybe a specific section for photos, gun related and other.

    3.

    4. I find the site very easy to navigate, especially with the Tapatalk plugin. In another forum I use the "New Posts" feature but here at TGT, that has never been an issue for me.

    5. This is the only gun forum I'm a member of but as for other forums I like the regional specific topics such as DFW, Gulf coast, Texas Hill Country, Panhandle, etc. We already have a handgun, rifle, shotgun section. Any more sub-divide might be over done. Maybe an antiques gun section, though.

    6. Yup!

    7. I do, now.

    8. I'm not a tuber.

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for? General discussion of gun-related topics and hot-topic current events of local interest.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk? Candid discussions of conservative/libertarian views of gun & political issues.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why? Fire the PC Police on this forum; close older threads not relevant to current discussions, and provide a clear and concise reason for any decision to delete a post in a thread.

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do? Why have posts made only a few hours or days before in a given thread been deleted without explanation? Why is it that when we log in, we see threads and posts from years ago, but not from just one day ago?

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here? NO. If you could dial back the clock about 12 months on TGT, you would have the "perfect" forum.

    6) Have you liked us on Facebook? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas...18938131470011 Who's got time for Facebook?

    7) Have you followed us on Twitter? @TexasGunTalk - https://twitter.com/#!/TexasGunTalk Who's got time to tweet?

    8) Have you subscribed to us on YouTube? TexasGunTalk - YouTube Why go to YouTube, when the content should be on TGT in the first place (with links to YouTube)?

    9) Have you linked to me on LinkedIn? http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=132821840 Another unreasonable demand on our most limited resource: Time.

    10) Have you +1'd us on Google+? https://plus.google.com/u/0/112479625691072207779 Google is how I found you: A +1 is not necessary.

    11. Your moderators seem to have dropped off the Face of the Earth.

    12. Trolls get an easy ride on this forum, and when exposed, the folks who call them out are condemned.

I goof around a lot. I try to leave it in the whore threads. Sometimes it gets away from me. I havent been scolded yet. For those of us that like to goof off, we all know we joke around. If someone doesnt like that, they dont need to go into those threads. Its that simple. And I will continue to act "childish" where appropriate unless notified by management.

I think its a great web community that has brought some awesome people together that otherwise wouldnt know each other.

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for? Gun talk, political and social talk, and fun.

    You asked me for feedback, allow me to be honest about these things;

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for?
I don't, not really. I wanted to, but there were some trolls here that I had encountered elsewhere so I decided to not pursue anything here. I don't feel like being stalked via the internet is a good thing, so I choose not to place myself into the position where I get involved in a community and then have to leave it due to some jerkwad. I am very happy to see the site continuing, and I wish it and the users all the best.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk?
    N/A

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why?
Perhaps a little more wrangling of the trolls. If new member posts and another member immediately pounces in the most obvious manner, someone should do the right thing. While appreciating the long time membership is good, preventing drama is better. It might also help keep the community feeling better and more productive.

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do?
Not at all. I think there should be a more obvious, or apparent "Lost Password" perhaps placed somewhere easily seen and accessible.

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here?
Not really. I pretty much stopped using forums as I found the communities are not to my liking in many cases.

    6) Have you liked us on Facebook? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas...18938131470011
    No.

    7) Have you followed us on Twitter? @TexasGunTalk - https://twitter.com/#!/TexasGunTalk
    No.

    8) Have you subscribed to us on YouTube? http://www.youtube.com/user/TexasGunTalk
    No.

    9) Have you linked to me on LinkedIn? http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=132821840
    No.

    10) Have you +1'd us on Google+? https://plus.google.com/u/0/112479625691072207779
    No.

I want to point out that I am not trying to troll here. I want to give honest feedback. You need that.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and to all that have served or serve - Thank you!

Well run site overall. On a side note, anyone who really enjoys the site and the efforts that Alan goes to to provide us with this community should consider supporting the forum. As someone who has run forums similar to this in the past, I'll tell you that it is a very small donation in comparison to the time and expense it takes to maintain this community.

Alright boys and girls. I haven't done one of these in a while, but I figured I'd give you a heads up on some changes coming and get some feedback from ya'll.

    Feedback (Please Answer the Following)

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for? Finding more knowledgeable (or just different) opinions on firearms stuff.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk? haven't been here long enough to figure that out. Chicks? Swords? I dunno.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why? If I was in charge, I'd fire the guy in charge. I don't know how to run a forum. :P

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do? I think I'm figuring it out...

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here? A +1/-1 system is sometimes helpful to know who is more full of s#!+ than others, but not a necessity.

    6) Have you liked us on Facebook? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas-Gun-Talk/218938131470011 Affirmative

    7) Have you followed us on Twitter? @TexasGunTalk - https://twitter.com/#!/TexasGunTalk Affirmative

    8) Have you subscribed to us on YouTube? TexasGunTalk - YouTube Affirmative

    9) Have you linked to me on LinkedIn? http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=132821840 Negative. Too many degrees of seperation. It wants me to pay money to contact you.

    10) Have you +1'd us on Google+? https://plus.google.com/u/0/112479625691072207779 Affirmative

This is one of my first visits here, but I do like the format and agree with A couple of previous responses, nice easy to read and navigate. I like the comment about the fridge, I do that a lot with my RC helicopter forum. Mostly looking for info for gun shows and reloading supplies/tips.

    Feedback (Please Answer the Following)

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for? Product knowledge and experience, tactics, legal questions

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk? OK as is.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why? I have no interest in the fitness, automotive, and electronics/video games sections, but fortunately they're down out of the way.

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do? Easier than many others. OK as is.

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here? No. This has it all other than the specialty sites that there is no need to duplicate here (Springfield XD, 1911, AR15, Glock, etc.) If I'm looking for specialty info, I go to one of those and would even if they were also here.

    6) Have you liked us on Facebook? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas-Gun-Talk/218938131470011 I got tired of de-friending boring "friends", so I turned off my facebook account a long time ago. I have no interest in knowing that someone across the country wants to be my friend and tell me about her latest quilting adventure or his lame opinion on some current event.

    7) Have you followed us on Twitter? @TexasGunTalk - https://twitter.com/#!/TexasGunTalk Don't do twitter

    8) Have you subscribed to us on YouTube? TexasGunTalk - YouTube No. Time is limited. YouTube usually takes too much of it.

    9) Have you linked to me on LinkedIn? http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=132821840 I do not participate in any of the personal info-collecting-and-reselling services.

    10) Have you +1'd us on Google+? https://plus.google.com/u/0/112479625691072207779 I do not participate. While you didn't mention it, I also have no interest in Meetup Groups.

Thanks, but it has not been a problem for me anyway.

    2) I've rolled out a commission system for anyone whom wants to make some side-cash. More info can be found here: http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/announcements-comments/34143-make-extra-cash-support-tgt.html

    3) I purchased some additional software to integrate Facebook as well as mobile versions of the site for iOS (Apple) and Android. I will be rolling these out as soon as I can get the uploaded and setup. An iPhone version of the site might be useful for reading, although typing limitations of the iPhone make increased participation unlikely--by me anyway.

Thanks for taking the time to poll the membership.
