Waltz's mom qualified for Social Security Survivor's benefits. I worked with a woman who was getting survivor benefits, and each of her kids got their own benefits after her husband died from cancer. the benefits (at least for the kids) continued after she remarried.

IIRC he took time-out from guard to go to China, paid for by a 'club' at Harvard. He tried to retire from guard but had to re-up to get his time in. As soon as he had it, he bailed. I don't understand how he get elected to any position in Gov. Social studies teacher with minimal ed., defense asst. coach( team won several regional titles BEFORE he coached). He joined the Texas guard to get funding for some classes at UH, went to Ar to work in factory. NO known history of his 'job' with the artillery unit in guard. But he gets to Fed Gov job, then Gov. Makes no sense.
