I am planning out my senior year and came across this in the undergrad catalog. This is one of the classes I could choose from. I obviously will not be supporting this professor's tirade against capitalism by signing up for this one. I was actually getting to a point where not all of my professors are liberal goons. A fucking class devoted to socialism.

I don't know, it might be interesting. It leaves the door open for either view. Sometimes an alternate view is entertaining as well as thought provoking.

Dude, I bought some property from a bunch of Liberals. They then decided to be squatters! After I started throwing all their crap out in the ditch, they hired a Liberal POS lawer.
When I finally got them out, they had some packed up box's in the front yard. My lab tore on of them open and had a bunch of book scattered all over the yard.
One of the book's was from the old womans college years from Amirillo. It was a young Liberal Society Book! I read some of the BS and understood why I hated them so much. This book was form the early 60's...

Actually, that doesn't really hint one way or the other. "Is capitalism good for the poor?" is usually a question asked by socialists, yes. But it's a question that capitalists should take time to answer.

The obvious answer is "yes". The poverty line in the US is at about the 80th percentile of world-wide wealth.

You realize the US is ranked below Canada and some parts of China in terms of economic freedom. We need to go BACK to FULL capitalism IMO.

If they want a socialist country there are plenty of them out there. Pack your bags and GTFO. Leave the US alone.

Why would you be enraged over a class offered to folks that you are not required to take? Even if you had to take it, being exposed to alternative and opposite points of view is educational and better prepares you for the world.

    Enraged? Really?

Well, IMSHO college is a place where all points of view should be openly expressed. You have to understand those who oppose your way of life if you ever hope to overcome them. (Just as an example, how much did the US understand the enemy - or allies - in Vietnam? Iraq?)

On the other hand, colleges tend to be havens for leftists and frequently they crush any conservative voices. Leftists are "at home" at college because it's NOT the real world. Leftists don't deal well with reality - they deal with feelings. They FEEL like the world would be more fair if everyone let them run it! (This is a big reason Hollywood and the LSM are so leftist. Facts are boring; Feelings sell beer, potato chips, cigarettes, etc.) At college, the professor can run a classroom pretty much like a little kingdom.

Another example of how college is not the real world: I met Iranians and other Muslims in college. Was even friends with some. Do you think they are the people out stoning women or rioting in the streets? No. They have money and are educated - something most of the people in their part of the world lack. Leftists think, "Iranians would love us if we just accept their beliefs and validate their feelings" because, after all, the educated kids THEY met got along with them just fine. Drop one of those leftists in the middle of Libya and see how long he/she lasts. Oh! Different world, prof! The Real World, where there are really stupid and really bad people who will happily kill you just because you are available.

Sadly, many many kids going to college are so sheltered that they get sucked into believing these profs are gods. (Hint: If your professor was any good at engineering, she would be making 3X the money to work for a corporation. She can't handle the real world because she can't control the people she deals with by withholding grades.) If you are smart enough to recognize BS from Shinola, then you are brighter than a large percentage of the kids your age. You will probably spend much of your life unhappy, because you will always understand just how screwed up the people running the show really are. But you will always be able to face yourself in the mirror knowing that you're not one of those oxygen thieves.

Study hard and good luck to you in the future.

This makes me wonder every day. I am learning entrepreneurship from employees.

I have a feeling that they dont really know the best way to do things. I guess the qualitative stuff is for me to learn and they could never make it translate.
The quantative stuff is pretty good though.

I tried this in college years ago and took the first step as you did: Know your enemy.

If the professor is a liberal POS, play his game. He'll think he found a convert.

Then, when you write your papers, go way over the top. Use the most used cliche's used by the left (disadvantaged, under-represented, culturally repressed, economically-challenged, etc.).

Put a lot of effort into your work to convince the Prof that you are one of his most devoted students.

At the end of the course, when he awards you with an "A," tell him he is full of Shia, and, never believed any of his crap, and smile as he will not be able to change your grade.

I applaud your rejection of leftist indoctrination.

Invite your friends to join the "college insurgency" that makes your profs think they have the upper hand, then when you have your passing grades in hand, tell those same profs they did not change your world view, and that they should FO&D.

    Be well.

Here are the classes I picked for electives, not much room for liberal propaganda. Personal finance should be fairly easy, the other 2 will be hard but actually worth my time.

    Elective one:
    3301 Personal Finance
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in ACC 2303. (This course will not count for the B.A. in
Business or B.B.A. degrees if taken concurrently with, or after completing BUS 3302 or FSP 3367.)
A study of personal fi nancial decisions that individual must make in today’s world. Topics
include budgeting and household liquidity; personal income taxes; charge accounts, credit cards,
    and consumer loans; personal insurance including life, health and disability, homeowners, and auto;
investments including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and tangible assets; buying and fi nancing homes,
automobiles, and other consumer durables; and wills, trusts, and estate planning.

    Elective 2:
    4365 Investment Analysis
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in FIN 3310; not open to pre-business students.
Investment decision making with emphasis on stocks, bonds, and portfolio management.
Major topics include portfolio theory and the measurement of risk, performance evaluation, the
effi cient markets hypothesis, valuation of securities, and portfolio composition in relation to investor
objectives. Other topics may include the functioning of the securities markets, securities law and
regulations, and an introduction to derivative securities.

    Elective 3:
4366 Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in FIN 3310; not open to pre-business students.
This course covers derivative securities such as futures, forwards, swaps and options. Such
securities are referred to as derivatives because their values depend upon the values of other assets.
This course presents a conceptual framework for understanding how to price derivatives and design
    risk management strategies.
