Those who do have a LTC can still enter the fair grounds. Read more here under the License to Carry a Handgun of the FAQs.

In the past I would just show my driver license and LTC to the officer at the gate and he/she would wave me in. This is another reason to get the LTC instead of just going with permitless carry.

Will they post a 30.05 sign? If not, the officer "should not" turn you away without an LTC. Fairgrounds are not on the list of restricted locations under 46.03.

Correct, with the exception of the stadium during the football game. Everywhere else it's fine. I've carried there 3 or 4 times.

Which one of you brave souls are going to be first to test it.

I’m within easy distance - if anyone wants to front me the money for a ticket in case I get turned away I’ll be a guinea pig. Might carry a black powder replica, too, just to further confuse the issue.

    ETA: On second thought, nah.

I’ll give that honor to one of y’all. Ironically, masks are banned under the “what should I wear” section

Wonder how strictly that will be enforced… and how many noses will be hanging out.
In the DFW area, I see few masks indoors anymore, despite mandate from county. In fact in one restaurant, all 4 cooks weren't even wearing anywhere even below chin.

Test the masks or carrying? If carrying, I won't hesitate since I have a LTC. If I didn't have it I wouldn't bother trying to carry since they wand you. Save the hassle and argument I'd lose anyway.

I'm in DFW, too. At the restaurant I was at today it was close to 50/50.
