I just found a copy of a check I wrote him a few years ago as part of a transaction. But I see his name has already been discovered.
I spoke to him on the phone several times, but never met him in person.
He was an interesting character.
May he rest in peace.

RIP. I had some running conversations with him about SA LEO stopping open carry people but he was never vindictive, just stated his opinion. Very sad to hear that he has passed away.
Went to 3 funerals in the last 30 days. We are not here forever.

Was his last name Freeman? I sold him a truck, we had - well, he had an issue, unrelated to the the sale - and I had his name down as something else starting with a K. The Bexar County Coroner shows James William Freeman declared dead on 6/18/2021 at 1:12 PM.
The guy had the most interesting luck... car fires, the truck I sold him was stolen before he'd had a chance to change the title, etc.
Loved cars, guns, and women - not sure in what order!

I'm old enough to remember a time when people appreciated that someone was a "character". Now, everyone's supposed to be PC and never say anything negative or controversial. SATX was ok by me and will be missed. RIP.

From reading his posts, SATX definitely had character. Which differs from being a character. He could easily have been both.

Sadly, having character and the conviction to say what you mean is rare these days. The communists can’t win if we refuse to be silenced.

This was a very nice touch to add the "Emeritus" under his avatar, and to change his generic avatar to the Texas flag. I'm going to assume one of the Mods or Admins did this for him in tribute.

That was very nice indeed and thanks to whomever did these changes. I think he would have approved.
