    Way out here
I posted this in the bigger thread already. Academy on 410/Perrin Beitel had .22 yesterday, but they're breaking the bricks into 20 round boxes and only selling 1 damn box at a time.

Haven't been by in a bit but I just left, Academy on 1604/Military has a lot of Tula 7.62x39 and some Remington .308, nothing else in the calibers they keep behind the counter.

i am new here. but i live off blanco near 1604. i know this...walmarts stock randomly between 7am-8am ish. academy has 1 box per caliber per day limit (but u can leave+come back later etc). Um...i've actually bought some "FBI runoff" of .40 smith n wesson bondeded jacket hollow point (basically the PDX1, but with brass casing, not nickel) for about 50 cents a round shipped online (not from academy). I'm not sure what you guys shoot but I'll tell you what...i hunt for ammo 24/7 so..i really DO want to help. 9mm seems to be THEE hardest to find btw. i think 9mm and 223 is hardest, followed by 22, and then 45/40.

i can still find winchester white box at academy in the mornings (best time to go) for about $38 for 100 rounds of 40. but let me tell u this...i STOCCCCCKED up on 40/45 from walmart (the federal redbox value packs) and it was like $22 for 100 rounds of 40, and like $28 for 100 rounds of 45! I can def help you guys out considering I most likely have WAAAAY much more time on my hands lol. I'm kind of upset at the lack of ammo....which is the reason i registered to the forum rather than just reading the posts =]. basically its...online/walmart/academy.

also..how well do u all know each other? i see threads about joining up at the shooting range...maybe a few members should just pitch in on a bulk order of ammo online. (shipping is where they get u) but..not if u buy in bulk.

Bandera/mainland Wal-Mart has a pretty good stock (20ish boxes) of many rifle rounds. 308, 243, 270, 30-30, 30-06. Most of it was the federal deer thugs hunting rounds.

The Academy in Selma had 40, 45, 556 and 9mm Winchester hollow points at around noon today. The walmart off of FM 78 had a couple of boxes of PPU 45 ACP.

Several Wal Marts had new stocks of rifle ammo (.270, .243, .308, .30-06) today. Mix of Federal and Remington. Prices were stupid high, even for Wally World. I will not pay 23.97 for a twenty round box of .243!

its like this....almost ALL ammo is available if you're looking for the self defense/exploding fragementing hollow exploding ammo. aka all those $1 per round stuff is widely available. Even "cheap rifle ammo" (not 223 or 22) is available. I'm pretty stocked on inexpensive 30-06 (the federal stuff).

That being said, i'm fulllllllyyyyyyyyy stocked in all self defense/hollow point ammo for my .45 and my .40

what i realllllly need and can NEVER find is the 'cheap' ball/full metal jacket (range) ammo! I used to by those federal 100 value packs for like $23 for 40, and $28 for 45!!!! 100 rounds! At the moment, the cheapest I've seen is like....16.99 for 50 rounds at academy, and i saw $36 or $38 for 100 rounds of the 'wwb' (winchester white box) 100 round packs. I'm gonna go to academy this morning before they open at 8am to see what they have. i hate that i love going to the range more than once per week, but dont have the ammo to do it =[

i just got 45, 9mm, and 40 from walmart on vance jackson and i10. i cant believe i made it! i was the only one there so im not sure if they had stuff BEFORE i got there. they had plenty of 45 (tul ammo though...aka steel), and i got the last 9mm 100 pack, and then a WWB (winchester white box) of 40 cal. all of em FMJ (but they DID have hollow point stuff). $21 for the 9, $16 for the 40, and then i think $14 for the 45. it was like $60 total with tax.

Stopped by the Converse WM this morning. They had the usual hunting stuff. 9mm-Luger, 45 and some 38sp

Did they have Federal 9mm 100ct packs? Was the .45acp also bulk?

Supposedly several Academy's got big shipments of ammo today. We'll see what they get in. I've got a buddy in line as we speak.

Still better than Academy's prices. I shoot Federal Premium Game King ammo out of my .270. It's $37 a box. Holy Crap!!! I'm thinking of picking up some of the $24 stuff at WM and hope my rifle likes it. It would be worth looking in my safe 5yrs from now knowing that I have all I need and got it at a decent price.

22-250rnds seems to be a little better priced but not much. I really enjoy shooting that caliber but it's too damned expensive to burn rifle ammo at the range nowadays.

I used to take my guns to the Powder Horn but their gunsmith went back to Canada. I went to Don's Gun off of Fredericksburg a couple of weeks ago and was happy with their work.

No Federal ammo showing up on WM's radar. They may be getting in WWB. Gotta run by there in a bit. I'll report what I see.

Looking to go early Friday and pick up some 9mm and .40 for Saturday at the range. Does anyone know which places would stock the shelves that morning? I live close to 410/I-10 and don't want to drive all over town before work. Thanks!
