My friends who work construction during the warm season save all their money so they don’t have to work in the off season. And they have plows for their trucks, so they work for the city or county plowing roads on snowy days to make up the difference.
That would have helped a lot.

You could have brought the snow plow down last summer. Didn't have to be when you first moved down. Any time is a good time for disaster preparedness.
