Front license plates are stupid

I still ain't drilled holes in the front bumper of momma's new car.
I dont get it. A semi tractor has 1 plate, front.
A motorcycle has 1 plate, rear.
A trailer has 1 plate, rear.
Why should a passenger vehicle with 4 wheels have to have 2 plates?

I didn't have one on front until mine was stolen. Thought you only needed the rear all this time...never had a problem
