My '97 GMC Z71 cost me $5K cash a little over 8 years ago. So far I've changed a fuel pump, intake manifold gasket, radiator (my fault) and a distributor. It's ugly as hell but pulled two stumps with it a couple weeks ago. Folks can feel however they want about their politics, management or any other aspect of the company but you'll have a pretty hard time convincing me they don't make good trucks.
I had one a long time ago that was red with a grey interior. It was one of the best trucks I ever had.

I would still have it but one night I fell asleep driving home. The road curved and I went straight. Totaled it right there.

Nearly 400 miles in the ram today.
Decent enough gas mileage at 76 mph. 18.7
No breeze all day either way to Lubbock and back, so uphill/downhill even out.
Smooth as glass ride though and very quiet.
Power to spare. Lots of power to spare.
