38 out of 50 states planning to file lawsuits?

The Yahoo news headline earlier today was that 38 out 50 states, including us, plan to file lawsuit with the supreme court. What exactly happens if the supreme court tells us all to STFU and learn to like it?

What I am asking literally, is what happens after that, legally and procedurally?

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that there has been a precident for basically unlimited freedom of the federal government to look after the welfare of the people.

That would be based on "case law" and not Constitutional law. There is nothing that says "case law" trumps Constitutional law, just because that's what been forced upon the legal system.

This has nothing to do with 'health care'- it has everything to do with establishing a further hold in the U.S for Communism.
Let there be no doubt, this is not socialism- it has gone way beyond that and now it is now fully blown Communism.
Karl Marx said that Communism could be summed up in a simple sentence: "Abolition of private property". When our wages no longer belong to us, that means that communism has taken our money/wages/income away from us and awarded it to insurance companies.
This had nothing at all to do with helping us to have better health care. It is simply Communism. Mary Sparrowdancer 3-22-10
The government now owns 1/3 of all the land and now with this, they own 50% of our economy. with 16,500 new IRS examiners, they will soon own all private property. We were so distracted guarding our swords we let our money be stolen.
There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword, the other is by debt. John Adams

A health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a congress that exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke. What could possibly go wrong?

the hammer wont fall... its like a baseball game in the out field...i got it i got it thud ball hits the ground and they say i thought you had it, no i thought you had it.
voteing out of office wont do anygood, who will replace those voted out? more of the same? who will stand and fight when the time comes?
I was laid off along with several others, I took a lower paying job, rest of my co workers took layoff and unemployment and was happy to do so.
Will americans stand together and fight to earn what the have or will they be happy to grow government and accept the handout?

Chopper is spot on with the baseball outfield analogy, spot on... This is EXACTLY how the Australians lost all their guns. A bunch of talk in their parliment that drug on for years, just like how this health care reform bill did here. Their water cooler talk around the country was "Nah, too far fetched, it will never happen here"... The parlimentary gun grab debate continued to drag on until the pressing nature of it faded from the public conciousness and spotlight, etc., etc. till finally BAM, a 51/49 percent vote and all their gun rights were gone in the blink of an eye.

That's how this health care boondoggle squeaked through on us and it's the exact same way they will remove the second amendment from our constitution.

Bingo, this should be repeated daily in some form so perhaps the 40% who do not understand can open or their eyes but sad to say many of the welfare folk simply could care less as long as they can get free stuff.

We see what has been done here, now how do we stop it? Taxes on tanning bed sessions because of skin cancer? Monitoring of my bank accounts? I would say, "You have got to be kidding me?" but I can't.. its all true. I hear the voices and read the writings of hundreds and thousands of unhappy Americans, but nothing, not a damn thing is being done. It is time. This is what we pay taxes for? This is what you go to work for? You don't own your home or even your car. Just don't pay your taxes and see if you own it. I once heard, "Those who say they are ready for war, are those that haven't seen it." I am 99.9% positive I am ready.

No one has been saying that Obama's "change" is for the better, but let's remember that theres also a right way to go about doing things and a tin foil hat fringe lunatic way to go about doing things.

So was a group of colonists revolting and boarding a ship, and then emptying barrels of tea into a harbor a right way or a tin foil hat fringe lunatic way to deal with things?
