Him: Good morning; we need to take HS graduates and train them to be digital literacy consultants to our customers. There’s about four hours in new hire training we can make available.

    Me: Boss, what’s the problem?

Him: I told you; our sales and service teams aren’t fluent in digital literacy coaching.

    Me: And?

    Him: What don’t you understand?
You: Digital literacy for High Schoolers exceeds our legacy staffs' knowledge base. I am going to require the metrics you are leveraging on this so I can champion the project. I will need fine grain data on the client/customer dysfunctional interface to drill down to a sub altitude. We must effectively isolate the sources(s) of the customer digital literacy shortfall.

    Nah....flip it.
    First define digital literacy.
Then have the HS crew train the legacy staff in an intensive 4 hr role play while simultaneously performing the ropes course.

    Gunz are icky.
Today began like many others have but with one difference.

Today I sent in my retirement paperwork.

    The Moonpie has had enough.
TBH I am a little scared. At the same time I am both glad and sad.
First time in almost 50yrs I will be without a job.
So now maybe I’ll have time to hit the range more? I dunno yet.
    Last day will be Oct31.
    They can have that place.

Congratulations! I had a hard time pulling the pin when I went also, after 35 years, especially with the uncertainty of not having a job. But I have to agree with msharley, it's the best move I ever made.

I retired 10 years ago. The 1st few years was great doing nothing or anything I wanted to do.
Then it started boring. Doing the same thing day after day, week after week, month after month.
Got to where I got tired of riding my motorcycle, going to the range and just farting around.
Then I started having construction companies calling me to work a project or fix one that was upside down
as the superintendent which lasted 2 - 3 months each. With several months in between them.
This brought in a few dollars and kept me from being sorry I retired.

In other words......you'll love it until you don't. I'm sure you'll find plenty to things to do to keep you occupied.

Glad that it worked out so well for you.
I would like the opportunity to get tired of riding my motorcycle.

    Note to self: buy motorcycle.
