Outside temp is 99 degrees with a heat index of 106.

Inside temp is 94 and rising. Turn your ac on you say. I would if the damn thing was working besides the humming sound it makes. Can't get an AC company out until, some time between 8 AM and 2 PM tomorrow.

Told the wife I'm thing about calling @Axxe55 and getting him and his harmonica together with my AC humming and making a hit record. I thought this was funny but instead of her laughing, she wanted to know where the key to the gun locker was.

And that's how my day is going.

Interior doors are open, all ceiling fans are going and the fire place flue is open so it will help draw the hot air out and help circulate the air.
    Now?

Run down the Circle blame K.

Get you & the Mrs. a couple blocks of ICE...

Stick 'em down yer shorts.... :roflfunny:

I have a portable AC for when there's no power, and using a generator.

Go buy a window unit, or something, for the bedroom.

Don't need to go to the Circle blame K for ice.

I just caught the wife in the kitchen with the refrigerator door open, food on the counter top and she was putting a small fan in front of the fridge. She said she was going to get the cold air to cool the house.

Now my wife has an IQ of, a tad over, 160 and in the olden days was sent a letter from Mensa with an invitation to join.

As you can see, my wife has the brain smarts but NO common sense.

Oh, as I walked into the kitchen with my camera, she informed me that she remembered where the gun closet key was.

    So, no pictures.

Buying a window unit is a good idea , but I can't see spending the money for, hopefully, one night.

Depending on how long it will take to get the the AC going will determine when and if I but a window unit.

I'd lend you one if we weren't using all of 'em. Our AC is out and we can't afford to have it looked at. Few more weeks to go and the house should be more comfortable again.

Thanks for the offer, but I agree that you need to keep your family comfortable and we'll make it OK.

Maybe $150 to sleep comfortable tonight.
Do you have a generator for power outages, could use it then too.

says the person who ISN'T living on their SS payments.

It's comfortable in the house and we haven't even broken a sweat. if it gets to bad for her, she WILL go to the daughters house for the night.

Two more calls in the past two hours. At least they're consistent.
A mutual friend of ours consistently answers robocalls the same way. "You sound really nice. Tell me, do you swallow?"

They always hang up on him. They seem to call back less.

Personally, I can't bring myself to do what he does but I have to admire the apparent effectiveness of the tactic.
