The best I get is a sightseeing helicopter that looks like it's going to fall out of the sky. We do get some WWII planes flying out of the San Marcos airport occasionally. When I hear those radial engines roaring overhead in the morning, it's like Viagra, it gets me up. - not saying I need that.

15-16 years ago, I'm in Chandler, AZ, standing under the approach for the muni airport. Fairly busy, as there was a constant drone of Cessna lawn mower engines (basically background noise). When suddenly a very distinct and powerful new noise catches my attention. Looking up I see silver w/ a white star on blue circle, it's the wonderful 12 cylinders of a Rolls-Royce Merlin attached to a P-51 on final. What an amazing sound!
