    What does TX law say about shooting dogs on your property,,,or does it vary by County?

    (Not that I'm gonna follow the law; I just wanna know what it is. In case.)
    As I understand it you can't shoot a dog just for trespassing but any type of carnage/damage justifies the shoot. That's just what I've always been told anyway.
    That doesn't mean you won't have issues with pissed off neighbors for shooting their dog. I figure once you park the backhoe that's the end of it.
    One of the dogs I'm having issues with has a GPS collar on it which tells me he prizes it, he's been warned.

    ETA: I will return his collar, I'm no thief.

    Yeah, pretty sure it varies by county, but it's pretty consistent that you can't just shoot a dog for being on your property, but if it's attacking livestock or people you can shoot it. I'm not sure pets get the same protections, but this dog was aggressive toward Ox, so...
