I don't think the price is that unreasonable. On the higher side of things sure, but you certainly weren't ripped off.

God damn, are y'all slow? Short bus, maybe? I already said I should have asked first in my second post. If I was embarrassed, would I have posted this on the internet? You have personal experience with being "butthurt?"

Actually, sounds like you're the slow one.
Nope. We better figure out another reason why this is 100% my fault.

It is 100% completely your fault.

You were not ripped off. You paid a professional to do what you either could not do on your own, or did not want to do. You are paying for a specialized service. Don't like it? Go and buy the tools needed to do it yourself. Other wise sack up and quit slamming a business that gave you what you paid them for.

For that exact price (including tax and shipping) I was able to get a sight tool shipped to my house and I can use it on all my pistols for removing/installing sights.

It pays to ask and to shop around. I've been quoted 2-3x the price of a service shop to shop, no idea why some people charge what they do.

That's a hard lesson learned, but I would not say you were ripped off. You could say you feel they charge too much for the services they offer and I'd accept that. I would not willingly pay that much unless the slide needed cutting or something involved.

So much fail by the OP in this thread. Kind of epic. If you've got the sights, go to a gunsmith to install them, and you don't know what it will cost to do it, you're the one at fault.

I've never owned that particular pistol but if requires a "sight pusher tool" to install the rear sight, that runs into some significant money. The choice for me would be to buy the tool and do the job myself. Then I'd own the tool afterwards.

M&P sights aren't even that hard to install. If you have a hammer and a punch, you can do it yourself. Don't even really need a bench vise.

also, +1 for your own damn fault for not asking for price beforehand.
