McClelland's Gun Shop charged me 64 dollars to put a set of Ameriglo's on an M&P Shield. The sights were only 75... If you need a gunsmith in DFW, I wouldn't recommend this one.

No, I didn't ask first. I should have, but didn't think they'd screw me that bad. Bought them from optics planet. Night sight install on that kind of pistol usually runs about half that rate.

Most shops I have worked at charge around eighty dollars an Hr.. Looks like you paid for slightly more than 1/2 an hour. Some jobs can be pretty finicky and end up taking a little longer. I have had to fight with all sorts of things that should come right apart. It's not worth a shops time to charge for less than 1/2 and Hr. in my opinion.

Makes sense. I just didn't expect to spend the cost of the sights on the installation. I guess easy sight swap is an advantage of Glock over M&P.

Why is not the responsibility of the service provider to give an estimate of labor cost before a service is performed? I am, after all, the one paying them.

Bigun, you took you handgun & sights to them and said, "put em on"..................you made the mistake of not asking how much it would cost. Now yer not happy with what they charged you. Live and learn, next time you'll ask. It is what it is......

If you're rolling in money or there's only one retailer for a service, then you don't ask the price.

Sounds like you're just butthurt and embarrassed. You could have been embarrassed privately.

I bet they had their hourly fee posted somewhere in the shop.

God damn, are y'all slow? Short bus, maybe? I already said I should have asked first in my second post. If I was embarrassed, would I have posted this on the internet? You have personal experience with being "butthurt?"

sounds like you wanted to slam this gun shop because they "screwed you". Now that you are not getting the response that you wanted, you want to insult folks.
