    Helotes!
I’d say the ATF. What resources can they bring to bear to help? I don’t know, but I’d sure find out. I might get a guy that wants to make this issue a project. It’s not cooperating with the enemy. Were I in Glen’s shoes (God forbid), I’d want to shout from the rooftops that my stuff was ripped off. Every interested eye is better.

And, as I've already show, the ATF doesn't get involved in such matters...

I guess if you were the subject of unsubstantiated accusations, you'd feel differently!
You might want to read this about the locks. They cut or removed his lock to put their lock on because of so-called "late fees", so they had access to his storage unit at some point, and probably looked into the storage unit to see what was in there..

A few days ago I got an email telling me that late charges are due and I'm locked out of my unit until the charges are paid. I went to the office to take with lardass and she explained it the best she could. So I paid the $134 late charge and their locks came off. Now the only way they could put their lock on the sliding lock is to remove our locks either by cutting or picking. When I went to get something out tonight, our locks were still on the sliding lock, so that means they took off one of our locks to put theirs on. I have no doubt whoever took off the first one also took off our second lock, opened it to see what was in it, saw a gold mine, probably took a couple samples, put theirs on until I came back and paid the bogus late charge, then put our locks back on until they wanted to come rob us.

Sorry, but that doesn't sound unsubstantiated to me, but sure as hell points to the possibility that someone at the storage facility either stole the property, or helped someone steal the property. No, it's not proof, but at least is strong suspicion that the storage facility employees might be involved.

I am going to echo a previous post............why in the fuckkk would you store 60 or so guns and thousands of rounds of ammo in a public storage facility out of your direct control?

I'm not trying to negate the magnitude of your loss.........but WTF????

    I won't say how many I have.........but IT is in my domicile. I don't talk about my stuff....I don't do show and tell...........and I don't have guests.

    I have to revisit this..........

How much did that storage unit cost per month?

You could have probably bought 2 Liberty safes (in which you could tightly store 60) and put them in your garage for less than a few months rent. Hell.........buy 3.............that's about $3600 in safes. I haven't used a storage space in years.....but at $300/mo.......you're in for $3600 in a single year. Dude.........that's fuckking rent. Buy a few safes and you own your storage.

I live in a less than 600 sq ft efficiency apt............and I would fill this bitch up with gun safes and sleep on top of my collection before storing them off site

Sorry for your loss... In the past, I owned a Farmers Insurance office and the standard coverage on homeowners insurance policies is typically either $2,000 or $2,500 total for all your guns... I became a certified firearms appraiser so that my customers could get their firearms appraised and then schedule them on their homeowners policy... This would provide them coverage from theft or loss of the scheduled firearms... Please ping me if I can help... Be Blessed

I found that a policy from a specialized insurer was the most economical way to go.

Some homeowner's policies have lower limits on theft (very low, a few thousand) than for other losses.

OP may have had a reason he put the guns in storage vs keeping at the house. Pretty sure his hindsight is as crystal clear as ours and the should’ve, could’ve, would’ve are pretty apparent so why rub salt in the wounds? I’m certain he came here looking for advice on how to move forward on this and not a beat down for something that’s already done.

@glenbo have you thought about posting a BOLO on some of the local classifieds?

There is never a good reason to put $150k -$160k worth of firearms and ammo in a public storage facility.
