Gotta wait for it to crash and see how many dumbfux finally see the light. They will eventually. It's just a question of how bad it has to get.

Also gotta take back the schools. That's really where the battle is won or lost.

Believing that two gay dudes shouldn't get married because it doesn't fit the bill for your religion is ultra-Conservative IMO.

I don't plan on arguing this anymore, no one's mind will be changed and neither will mine.

Purely from a political science perspective, this is the first election republican or democrat, where we have someone say they support government redefining marriage to accommodate 2 guys getting married. Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Barry, all supported the normal definition of marriage being between a man and woman.

    When they ran.

I didn't realize any of those kooks were ultra-conservative extremists...

I don't think two dudes should get married. I think its morally wrong. I also think its not my business as long as they're both consenting adults, and that the government doesn't have any business controlling it.

I don't get why that's so hard to reconcile for some. Repeat after me, "society and government are two different things."

far too many people try to use government to force their view of society on others

If...the libertarians...give in, to the statists by not engaging them in the current political paradigm then the libertarians will lose.

Libertarians weigh in: are you still holding onto the dream of the viable 3rd party or is the new plan to uplift more libertarian minded representatives into the current party structure?

I dream of an infinite number of candidates to choose from, without party affiliation at all ;)

Seriously though it really depends on the particular race. On my local ballot its L vs R a good percentage of the time (and no Ds contesting). In those cases I usually vote L. I try to download the ballot and research as many of the candidates as possible before voting though. I'll vote for guys like Cruz more times than not in the national elections.

Now when guys like Romney or McCain run its like choosing which nut you want kicked when you go vote. No good choices. Its a real dilemma and I generally just spend my time complaining on the internet, LOL

Appreciate the thoughtful response. I know there was a concerted effort to run L candidates locally and then feed them up the political system to the national level. Essentially then we'd start to have coalition governments, somewhat similar to how they rock it in Europe.

A lot of L minded candidates are torn on which party to run on. In my district we tend to have very liberty minded people running on the Republican platform lately. Capriglione gave Vicki Truitt the boot this last go round and has been awesome down in Austin. He is a R and after having a conversation with him on issues I thought he was the best opportunity for positive change so I voted for him.

I am a conservative, but that has nothing to do with two gay dudes wanting to get married. For the book, I personally do NOT care who their choice of a partner is in life, NOR is it any of my business that I know.

But we have a Federal Govt that is jamming down our throats how I NEED to think and that I should openly accept, condone and support this. I do not and I will not. That does not say I want to stop you for your choice in life, nor does it mean I hate you or anything else. I am happy to sit down and break bread with you and even include you in my circle of friends. A good friend of mine, both of them were gay, married in their eyes and his partner died of AIDS back in the mid 80's. I was saddened when he passed away and consider both of them good friends. THey were very conservative both of them.

Want folks to accept gays or anything else, the lets get the Govt OUT OF jamming it down our throats. I personally think OPEN gays in our military will be a very bad thing and have a severe command and control impact on our fighting ability. That said I met my first gay in Basic Training in '67 and the last one I knew was a full Col when I retired in '94. There was no shortage of gays, they all did a good job, were good soldiers and those that chose to make a career rarely had any problems doing so. I never talked about my wife and our sex life at the office and I do not expect some gay to talk about his sex life in the office.

Ever single gay that got the boot out of the Army wanted out and went to his commander and told him that he was gay, well that got you the boot, fact is the guy wanted out. More than one straight guy who wanted out also claimed he was gay.

The killing fields and the bloody arena is no place for anything other than soldiers doing their job as soldiers...

I don't propose we live in a theocracy and I know that's what a lot of libertarians and non religious folks fear from the right.

What I am proposing is that if anyone who loves freedom is OK with the social engineers rewiring society, there will eventually be a society and government which is hostile to your freedom, especially your first amendment rights. Remember in the socialist democracies of Europe, many of the things we say freely here would get you locked up there. From what I see if we lose to the socialists we will then be left with two kinds of governments around the world essentially, socialist democracies and fascist dictatorships. People on he right need to unify and not continue to be splintered and defeated by the unrelenting unified march of socialism. Forward comrades!

What? LOL I don't think anyone fears us turning into a theocracy. People complain when someone even prays within 1000 yards of a school.

Is this rewiring society? This is actually promoting more freedom not less. Its actually expanding support for the 2nd amendment. I think you're completely wrong on where this heads to. Gays liking guns leading to socialism just doesn't make sense at face value. LOL Are you serious?!?!
