    Well, Edison was pushing for DC for power transmission along power lines, and it was not suited to it - AC is. DC is good for battery power.

    DC is more efficient for long distance transmission of power and is used as HVDC in long distance lines. It's then converted to AC for local and last mile.

    I think you’re wrong. Long lines are A, B, C circuits. Even distribution lines are A, B, C circuitry(A/C).
    I'm partially (mostly?) wrong, in the US we tend to use AC even for most (but not all) long runs, we just bump the voltage way up to combat line loss. Undersea cables are HVDC though to reduce line loss over those very long distances, DC is more efficient in that regard.
