I did this with a soldering iron once. Broke me of the habit of catching things as they fall. I straight up just watch things crash to the floor now.

I fumbled a steak knife and without thinking tried to catch it. Fortunately it didn't penetrate that far into my palm.

I swear in 1992 I had a girlfriend in Round Rock. To visit her I had to turn on Sam Bass, drive past the intersection with Sam Bass and turn right on Sam Bass. Now, it's been a few decades since I was there, so maybe I found the wrong knot of Sam Basses, but it looked about right.

You're close, you can absolutely be driving down Sam Bass and drive past the intersection with Sam Bass (It continues on after a turn to the right). You could take a right at the next light (Creek Bend) and reconnect with Sam Bass but it would be the same Sam Bass you just passed. You'd just be bypassing that turn. (see arrows below)

edit to add: the Bent Tree neighborhood is all new since 1992, Creek Bend would have been the next right period (not just next light) back then as you remember it.
