In this case the cop was the one that unloaded the mag. He put the rounds in his pocket. There comes a point where the cop's authoritarian actions are obviously no longer about "safety". If he asked him out of his car, what threat would a handgun in the console pose? Is it really necessary for him to go into the man's console and eject every round out of the mag? No, it really helped nothing and there was no reason to do it other than to flex his power at a "peon" citizen. This cocksucker should be fired.

Fire someone for overreacting about a gun? ... Maybe the kid was a rookie and was scared. Maybe he was an overzealous cop with an attitude complex. In the end nothing came of it and there are far bigger battles to be fought other than micromanaging every single little thing that the police do as some kind of massive attack on the Constitution.

The only thing that I believe should come of this is a phone call and a report regarding the lack of training or realistic measures in dealing with CHL holders. A cop making someone, or himself, do 3 trips on the side of the road is an unnecessary safety risk. It's a mistake, but certainly not one worthy of firing someone. What if that cop had a family? ... going to shit on them because he made a circus out of a traffic stop? C'mon man.
