A fine example of how many of life's tense moments can be resolved by a quick mind and a sense of humor!Wow. Brings back memories. The number of UT Austin girls who used to work the peep shows was just staggering back in the day.
I remember one time at a signing event at one of the adult book stores the staff were nervous because Austin PD had been really cracking down on them, coming up with any little thing to hassle 'em. I was there on a junket with production company promoters and we had a radio station broadcasting live. What happens? A pair of Austin's finest come walking in wearing riot gear trying to put on an intimidation show.
I greeted them so loudly the entire store could hear.
"Welcome, officers! It's so nice of you to drop by to support the event! If you need anything, just let me know! I'll be happy to take you to the head of the line and get you a couple of signed 8x10s! Hey, I know! Would you like to pose with her?"
Then I shouted across the store to the porn star signing autographs "Hey, you mind coming over and posing with a couple of Austin's finest? It's so nice to see such support for free speech from the law enforcement community, I think you should make a special effort to make them feel welcome!"
The cops glared at me, walked down one aisle, and walked right back out the door.
The manager of the store and all the counter workers shook my hand and some of them hugged me after the event. They'd never seen a single cop embarrassed out of the store before, much less two. They all said they were sure I was going to jail while it was happening.
On-topic part of this post - You had to pay cash for a signed picture or to pose with the actress. But maybe that doesn't apply because I was negotiating to the the officers a freebie...
must be modern mathReally?
Anyone without layered RIFD blockers inside their wallet, passport pocket and trouser pockets where key fobs and/or money clips are placed is just NOT keeping abreast of current threats. I am 72 years old and those precautions are cheap and basic to security to everyone whether you travel or not.Depends on how much you're carrying. A study published in 2012 said they could do it with a single 5 dollar bill from 3 cm. That is about an inch, but they were also using a much smaller detector than what big brother has.
This group presented it publicly in 2012. It's 2021. I bet it's been classified technology for 25 years.

Well...........Tried a new burger place the other day. They do not take cash at all. Sign on the door said they will close for one day next week to give the staff a break. Not enough customers in there to stress their staff in my opinion.
The 'no cash' deal probably does not hurt their business, no doubt saves them on labor and managing the cash.
My favorite breakfast place in Granbury ONLY takes cash, best value in town!Tried a new burger place the other day. They do not take cash at all. Sign on the door said they will close for one day next week to give the staff a break. Not enough customers in there to stress their staff in my opinion.

That's right! My favorite breakfast place in Granbury ONLY takes cash, best value in town!
There’s two separate things going on here. First is knowing where every single dollar goes. That’s a backwards look…look back at May. For every dollar spent, track it back to what it was spent on.
Haha self proficiency is becoming a thing of the past. Nobody except me and one or two others on my street cut their grass anymore, even though they have kids that could likely do so. And car maintenance? Pft.. not around here. I don’t even see anyone washing their own cars any moreAnd then there is working so much you don’t have time to spend it!
Also do whatever you can not to pay someone to do for you! Things like cutting your own hair and doing your own yard work add up big time in a year.
Buying a home sure beats renting. Home ownership does not come cheaply, but if done right pays off big time!

I can't stand yard work. I think it's a massive waste of time, and caring what it looks like is banal vanity. A garden on the other hand is something worth spending time on.I think I’m the only one on my street that cuts his own grass.
