There have been some very large donors who in the past backed Dems that have given to the Trump campaign - first time ever to fund a Republican for some of them. This was a reaction to his conviction (properly called a miscarriage of justice).

Not really following your point, though.

I haven’t looked into who the donors are so really just didn’t know where the money was coming from. I just don’t think the dollar amount itself is an indicator of much based on recent history.
