Slightly related to this topic - if you've got an hour to listen (you don't have to watch, its just two old dudes talking) this interview has good info on it that could be useful especially if you find yourself in the crosshairs of the ATF.
Enlightening to me - there has been federal judges (multiple) who have agreed / ruled that complete AR lowers are not in fact receivers, so following that logic - anything short of a complete AR cannot be considered a firearm. Same with a pistol. The definition, unchanged for now, requires a "receiver" to have multiple components to be considered a receiver (and thus a firearm) - so far these cases haven't been driven up the food chain and manufacturers haven't pushed hard back against ATF - but with Polymer80 being targetted, maybe we'll see some traction here and the info gets weaponized against ATF
