Hard to choose. Clapton, SRV, David Gilmour, Knopfler...here's a candidate kind of out of left field, because he never really highlighted his own guitar playing despite the size of his ego. I never liked him back in the day, but in retrospect the dude was amazingly talented and...as it turns out, one hell of a guitar player.

I've fast forwarded to the solo, but do yourself a favor if you haven't and listen to one of the best versions of this song performed by one hell of a supergroup. Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood and...Prince. The weird little dude sure could shred.

When Clapton was asked how it felt to be the best guitar player in the world, he said I don't know.....ask Prince. Jerry Reed was a damn good disciple of Chet's.
