I’ve used 243 for decades, it is a tack driver out to 100 yards, with a neck shot. from 100 to 400 I’d use a 25-06, depending on terrain, i also love the 270 and 308 when dictated by terrain and type of hunting or type of shot placement I expect to make.

so is hunting off a public road or out of season. Doesn’t change the fact that the 22 reigns supreme in that role and likely has killed more deer than the other calibers.

Does this mean I have to shoot a Whitetail 3 times with my 45-120 Sharps Express to kill it? I use 350 gr bullets at 2800 fps,could go faster but my shoulder says no!

Rimfire is illegal in Texas for big game.

What about exotics? I don't think someone would care when cull hunting.
