    I highly recommend E Silhouette every 100 yards. In my experience with people shooting on my 800 yard range, most hit a wall between 500-700 yards. It is almost twice as difficult hitting the 800 as it is hitting the 700, and it will only get worse as you go out further.

    Probably don't help the .308 has the trajectory of a hand thrown cinder block at that point.

    When I was down at the Juliff range (Bayou Rifles) this past weekend I popped over to the 1,000 yard range just to take a look. Man, that is a lo-oo-oo-ong way to go. Even the 600 yard distance looked tough.

    Glad I don't think I have the money to get into that game!

    I was hitting steel at 600 with 77gr Mk262, and it barely make enough noise to let you know you hit. You need something around 14X to get a visual on the paint. I didn't know I hit it until I drove down and looked at the target.
