The biggest part of gender confusion is that most people really don't know what being a man or a woman actually entails. We have muddled and corrupted the roles that define the sexes so much that kids today can't understand the differences. Add to that the denigration of men in the MSM and absence of strong male role models in many families....and you get what we get today.

How do you define the roles at their most basic level? What is a man? What is a woman? And how do you explain that to people that were never raised with a good definition of either?
Yes, for one: “Sex” and “gender” ARE the same! Those are determined ONLY by chromosomes, which cannot be changed !

45/70 went off in the truck, after my thumb slipped off the hammer of a Marlin Lever gun. I was young and dumb, but haven’t let it happen since. Went through the floor, luckily missed import stuff underneath. Makes me sick typing it!

Another big tell tale is the adams apple.....men have them and women don't.

Yeah, but they can "shave" the adams apple - its one of the surguries trans folk have done to look more feminine. It ain't cheap going from Steve to Eve, if they do it "right" - adams apple shave, facial feminization (reshaping cheek bones & brows, nose job, chin alterations) surgeries, plus boob jobs, tummy tucks, hip / butt implants.

LeVieux's approach with the fingers would probably work - but then you have some gals like my wife who have kind of manish hands. She has shorter, stubbier fingers with larger palms. She might not pass his "is she a girl" test just from the fingers. My fingers though, are just as he describes with pretty parallel edges.

If they've had "good" surguries done - 9 out of 10 people would have a hard time telling the real deal from medical art. The "bottom" surgery has even progressed so that its not just turning your outtie into a hair-growing innie, but they actually take a chunk of colon and craft a kitty from it, attaching it to a little bit of the outtie that gets inverted so that they're self lubricating and don't require constant dilation, and look damn near indistinguishable to all but the well trained eye from the real thing.

Yeah, I've been down some weird rabbit holes on the internet after watching "What is a Woman"

My rule of thumb is that if a chick looks *too* perfect - perfect makeup, perfect hair, perfect curves, perfect tiddies, well dressed - she's probably got a bigger dick than I do. I like mom bods with stretch marks and some cellulite, they ain't mimicking that shit yet :roflfunny:

For me it was confronting a burglar at my house during the day. He was attempting to crawl thru a window. I approached unseen from the backside. I stupidly and unconsciously cocked my double action revolver (44 spl) to full cock. I thought it was pointed at the guys feet. When 'he' turned around I saw it was a girl and she screamed. I flinched, raising the gun and pulling the trigger. The round went between the girls arm and torso, leaving a mark on the stucco wall. She was arrested 30 minutes later attempting a second burglary. I thank God every day for not killing her. Now I keep a Double Action Only revolver for home defense.

First range trip with my fancy custom Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1924. G-2 confirmed the seller's assertion that only 7X57 versions were imported by Styer. Available in Europe in 7X64 Brenneke only. Measured bore with Chinesium calipers then test loaded a 7X57 just to make sure it wasn't a Brenneke. Missed the berm at 25 meters! At the range I looked in disbelief and commented to my friends "that looks like a 270 case with no neck!" After doing the laundry, pulled the stock and found the underside of the barrel beneath the forearm neatly marked with the gunsmith's name and "270 Winchester". In case you ever wondered what would happen, this is what happened THAT time. Have since had the rifle inspected and pronounced undamaged and verified that the front sight is woefully low which might partially explain missing the berm.

I know, everyone here is perfect, but for the rest of us, what was your worst "oops" moment while at the range, or at a gun course, etc?

My personal "oops" moment happened almost 10 years ago. My grandfather had just died. He was a veteran of 3 wars, and over the years, he had accumulated a nice arsenal of arms. My father, understandably took all the good stuff; Colt 1911, M1 Garand in good condition, 44 Magnum revolver, etc. The one gun he let me take was my grandfather's old J-Frame DA/SA .38 special. It was the gun my grandfather carried when he worked as a security guard to help pad his pension, and also just get out of the house according to him.

It was actually in good condition, not a lot of scratches, nice grips, no obvious holster wear. I was kind of happy to have it to be honest. So shortly after, in remembrance of my grandpa, I took it to the local indoor range along with some other handguns. Now, I had almost zero experience with DA/SA revolvers before, but I knew the basics. Thumb the hammer back for SA, else a long DA pull.

So I load up some 38 special in my booth, I get set to shoot. When I'm shooting I usually start with the gun slightly pointed down (like a 40-45 degree slant), and then I try to practice getting my sight picture, and then take a few shots, repeat. Always pointed down range of course. So I thumb the hammer back, and I try to lightly and gently place my finger on the trigger before raising to hit paper, and BANG. A round goes off to my complete shock.

The round bounces off the floor of the range, and I literally see it ricochet into berm at the back of the range. It scared the sh** outta me. Suffice to say, the 4 universal rules saved me, and I'm glad no one got hurt. At the end of the trip, I wanted to see what was up with the gun. Took it to my workshop, and got my trigger scale out. Make sure the gun is clear, and thumb the hammer back, and pull.

    Pull #1 - 1.7 pounds
    Pull #2 - 1.4 pounds
    Pull #3 - 1.9 pounds.

Pretty much everything under 2 pounds. I had never really shot anything much under 3 pounds before, so seeing 1.4 shocked the heck out of me.

I didn't realize these j-frame triggers were so damn light in SA. I don't think my grandpa modified the trigger (or maybe he did, who knows?). I never owned another J-frame, or shot another one, so I never had a frame of reference to compare.

But that was my one oops I've had over three decades of being in shooting sports.
Okay ...mia culpa...While a RAG instructor lead for a flight of 4, I took off from NAS Fallon enroute to ElCentro and left my effin gear pins in-I dumped to max landing weight taxied back to base ops and signaled a pilot to come over and pull my pins...which he did-when he raised his visor it was a friend who signalled back that I owed him many many six packs! I got a plaque for that dumbassery.

I think that somewhere in there he had to call for landing clearance and land.

    What is “RAG” ?

Your concerns are common, but in my experience, unfounded.

And, the characteristic I mentioned was TAPERED finger-sides, not hand size or finger length.

I’ve seen photos of far-Eastern boy/girl hookers who may fool someone, but never with Caucasians or Blacks.

Methinks most worry too much about being tricked.

Looks like Coyote was in the Navy. "RAG" is "Replacement Air Group" - basically training pilots up to go out to active squadrons and fill personnel openings. The fact that he was an instructor and missed pulling his landing gear pins would be extra egg on his face.

I drove civilian planes for 50+ years, no jets. I presume the “pins” were a safety device which prevents ground personnel from raising gear while a/c is on deck or runway.

None needed, but yeah, I'll confirm your presumption. These would be "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" pins to prevent just the sort of mishap you describe.
