    Welcome.
When you get to missing California just take a day trip to Austin.
There isn't much left to miss about the state, aside from my house. We bought it in 2008 and even got the keys on our wedding day. All of my kids, my nephew and 2 of my nieces learned to walk in this house. 13+ years of good memories, bad memories and everything in between.

The next 13+ years in this state isn't worth it though. Time for a better life for my family. I will no longer have to educate my children on what the junkie is shooting into his arm at the homeless encampment or why there are pan handlers at the busiest intersections. I cannot leave soon enough.

Yep, all my kids learned to walk in the same house I bought in 2004 when I moved to Texas. I also agree many areas within this State is starting to remind me of the failed Ca govt.

Sold my house this week. 30 day close, all contingencies waived and 2 months free rent. The time-line fits perfectly. My lease will expire on my children's last day of school. June 10th, we'll pick the kids up from school and kick off our road trip to our new hometown.

Hello all. First off, I apologize for adding to the increased housing prices in hill country. Please forgive me.

I will be escaping the state I was born and raised in, specifically because of the policies that have been ruining my home for the last 30-40 years. Policies that I did not, do not and never will support.

By June of 2022, I'll be moving myself, my lovely wife and our beautiful 4 children to New Braunfels.

The 2A is important to me and I hope to enjoy it in the great state of Texas.

I understand if some don't think I belong but I look forward to "earning my keep" in this state. God bless and let's go Brandon!
Welcome from a recent escapee also. What area are you moving from?

Samll world I lived in Salinas and worked in San Jose, Passed by you every day stuck on 101
Ha! Before gilroy, I lived in Marina. Born in Fort Ord and raised in Seaside. I'm currently working in San Jose.

Salinas to San Jose is a good hike. Especially the reverse commute on a holiday weekend.

My former employers based office was located in Marina. I used to enjoy the drive from San Jose to Marina just to drop office paperwork from one of our job sites.

    What employer was that?
Memory lane. Paiges Security. They held the GSA Government contracts in all District 9 California Federal buildings at the time. I used to work in the downtown San Jose Federal building and drive to Marina to deliver payroll paperwork.

Yes driving the company vehicle. I credited the job giving me experience to get into Law Enforcement afterwards. I did miss the drive down to Marina afterwards.

Made it to New Braunfels this week. Getting settled in an apartment until my house is built.

I've been studying up on state politics. I gotta admit, that Beto fella seems like he may be the one. I hear much of what he's saying. Just his name alone screams diversity and I know you all agree, diversity is our strength. I hear he even skateboards and I find that tubular. He reminds me so much of my hometown. Young, full of dreams and the attitude we all need.

If you've made it this far without cussing me out, I applaud you. I could hardly type the above without being disgusted with myself. If you haven't, my apologies. Beto, or Francis is a complete dufus and I would never support such a tool, brah.

    Cheers and God bless Texas!
