Nope
I have the last year Tacoma that they had the 4.0 V6 in.( 2015) best v6 engine out there and they decided to not put them out anymore. They still make great vehicles, but a full sized truck needs a full sized engine, not a turbo charged mid size engine.
Is that the reason the 4.0 went away? Glad I got one then.Great engine , but couldn’t meet emissions

The 3.5 that replaced it is a great engine…for a car. It really needs to spin to make power.
I've only used my 3.5 Tacoma for towing a few times. As the main things it carries are guns, dogs and or ham equipment. It's adequate at 23-24 mpg.Yep, it will meet the needs of those who use their truck to transport and golf clubs, which is overwhelming most.
You have towed a few times with a 3.5 in a 2022 Tundra?I've only used my 3.5 for towing a few times. As the main things it carries are guns, dogs and or ham equipment it's adequate at 23-24 mpg.
Sorry. I was referring to the Tacoma above in post #23. The 3.5 engine is much too small for the Tundra. You have towed a few times with a 3.5 in a 2022 Tundra?
Your 2022 Tundra gets 23-24 mpg?

The older Tacoma engines seemed to run forever. The improved mpg of the 3.5 is partially due to the watchful eye of my wife during the drives from Memphis to Plano.Yeah the 4.0 would never deliver that mpg…older Toyota engines are bulletproof but thirsty.

So what's that run $80k LOL
My issue isn't the price of a new truck or car. I expect it to be built to provide service well past the last payment. It appears some manufacturers designed their products to begin failing at the end of the average vehicle loan.So what's that run $80k LOL

Reliability is the reason I have Toyota and Subaru in the drive now. The Camaro is only there because my wife doesn't understand it will require replacement in a few years.in my personal opinion toyota had surpassed that test of time for decades. with ford or dodge i am always worrying about reliability even tho their new advanced features are amazing. with toyota they are slow to roll new changes but they rarely have major issues or recalls.

I'll be runnig my 08 Toyota until I can't drive or I die.My issue isn't the price of a new truck or car. I expect it to be built to provide service well past the last payment. It appears some manufacturers designed their products to begin failing at the end of the average vehicle loan.
By the time my Toyota needs replacement, they only choices will probably be electric.I'll be runnig my 08 Toyota until I can't drive or I die.
With ethanol free gas and a light foot( meaning I actually drive the speed limit) I get about 20-21 mpg on the highway in my 2015 4x4 Tacoma. I get about 17-18 mpg Hwy if I drive like I normally doYeah the 4.0 would never deliver that mpg…older Toyota engines are bulletproof but thirsty.
