So, they know that he couldn't pass NICS to purchase it, they know he bought it through a private purchase, but what was it?

More information. According to article, this guy had been calling local police and FBI leaving incoherent messages.

My first thought was the Parkland HS shooter and his behavior and the encounters he had with police and school officials. Ugh!

Makes you wonder how police, FBI and other’s ought to react when confronted with this sort behavior?

Hindsight is 20/20. Could he have been stopped?

There's a ton of reasons I could give why #UniversalBackgroundChecks are a stupid idea, but even if (and I don't) agreed with them... no. It's just gonna be the next "reasonable" limitation next, and the next, and the next... #NotAnotherInch
Sometimes you make progress in one area and lose in another for a net gain.

I defined the sort of UBC I could tolerate in another thread. I would take it without complaint if I could get, in the same legislative package:
    • Repeal the Hughes Amendment
    • Pass the Hearing Protection Act
    • Pass Universal Reciprocity, and
    • Have another NFA amnesty exactly like the one in 1968.
The net result would be positive progress towards restoring 2A rights in this country. We wouldn't be giving an inch; in the aggregate, we'd be taking back several furlongs.

Does my position disqualify me from the #NotAnotherInch club?

I sold a NIB S&W Shield to one of my best friends awhile back. I still typed up a bill of sale that he signed and I tossed it in the safe. It makes everything official, everyone feels better and it's just good policy.

I just bought a 22 pistol 2 days ago. I showed my CHL and he showed me his FBI identification. We both felt good about the deal. No BOS needed. Some of my best buys have been from LE.

I personally feel fine if we show each other a chl or something like that. No information taken down. I know some people don't even want to do that, but that's basically my terms

Yeah but do you honestly think there's a chance in hell we would get any of these items on your wishlist?

Not sure much can be done with incoherent messages but a follow up on the NCIC failure could have helped. Again, the FBI don't have time for dat what with all this Russian Collusion and coup cover up.
