I'm not talking about bug out bags or get home bags or anything like that. I'm talking about your roadside "crap I broke down" bags. I'm putting together kits to keep in the vehicles for myself and others to maybe add to the inventory for the upcoming business venture. I have a pretty good idea if what I'm looking at, but wanted to see what others are doing and why.

    I'm talking about things like

    Lights
First aid (what degree or level of kit)
    Flares
    Reflectors
    Tools
    Emergency stuff
    Etc.

    What y'all got?

Many of the things in my get home bag would dual purpose for this scenario. That is what my bag started life as. If i broke down in the middle of nowhere during a snowstorm kind of thing.

    Jumper cables and bug spray.

That's about it. Should probably add more.

I agree there is a lot of crossover. But there are things that would suit only for a roadside bag that would add too much bulk to BOB. Tools for example. Hammer, screw driver set, reflector triangle, larger first aid kit, etc.

Hence the difference in description. Mine is not a BOB, it's a car quit, have to get home or wait for rescue bag.
The tools and such are a part of the cars inventory and would stay there.
So the roadside bag has the car specific tools and such, complemented by my bag that helps keep you the human alive in a stranded scenario.

So, roadside: tools, jumper cables, flares, tow strap, fix o flat, spare belt, spare hose etc

Human bag: water, food, warmth, defense

From the first of april to the first of may, I generally have waterproof cold weather gear in the truck. 2 lights, stainless steel cup and canned fuel always. Knives and lighters, usually 2 of each in the pocket with sharpener.
In the summer, a rain coat and water.

    For coffee of course.

Weird thought...one of those fold up Razor scooters might be pretty awesome.

You wouldn't go fast, but they don't way much, are compact and you might be able to do some coasting on it.
