It's an awesome car. Would love to have a Cosworth Vega if it's cheap enough. It'd be more impressive on a road course than the drag strip, tho.

Absolutely, but remember, 1974 Z28s only ran mid 15s in the 1/4 mile.
I was 17, and it was the car I had.

I think so too. The handling and the acceleration was a thing of beauty.

I did own one ford back in that era.
1979 turbo mustang bought off the showroom floor.
Had it 6 months, then was rear ended and totalled out.
It was basically a glorified pinto, so that was scary, lol.
I thought the girl in the back seat was dead.

I skimmed over that article, still don’t know what a Vega is. There’s one little picture at the beginning of the article with some “interesting” looking wheeled things. Don’t believe I ever seen one before. Per the article that car was killed off three years before I was born.

    Back to the pics.

Not the greatest example, but I saw this at WM just today when I stopped by.

    Helotes!

Yep, made by Plymouth (then later Chrysler) from 1997 to 2002. Retro-styled with a front-engined 3.5L V6, rear-drive, rear-transmissioned 42LE 4-speed automatic. Made predominantly out of aluminum. 11,702 were made over its run. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, 126 MPH top speed (electronically limited). They have quite the cult following...
