True story. If you want to buy crack, one of the easiest places to buy is within line of sight of APD Headquarters. They do seem to let that go. Could it be that jaywalkers on campus can actually pay the associated fine, and the throngs of homeless dope peddlers can not?

You're right, that completely mitigates this girl of any responsibility for her actions. No matter her childish they may have been or how easily she could have avoided this outcome.

In that case you get no sympathy, those officers should've made you eat pavement for pulling away then charged you with resisting. I don't get how "you people" don't understand the purpose of cross walks.

    RACIST!

Of course they assign officers to chase easy tickets that make a boatload of cash in "fines" with little effort while short staffing violent crime....duh...

You think that they fined 7 people $125 each, while paying multiple officers, their associated costs(insurance, vehicles, gas, training expenses, etc etc etc), and court costs to make a boatload of cash? Really?

Two JBT, twelve "walking tax" papers an hour (estimated), six hour shift on site with an hour in and an hour out for 16 manhours...no vehicle needed, obviously no PT time needed... Compared to, say, doing what used to be called "police work" but is now ignored since it makes the city...nothing... Follow the money. And don't forget those "performance expectations" to keep the rank and file in line with goals set by politicians.

That said, the girl's actions make her like a typical whiny little bitchy-bitch bitch. But that is beside and beyond the point of...why were the cops there writing $125 tickets? Were all the other unsolved crime in The City (Oh, The City)...solved? Most jurisdictions don't respond to vehicle accidents anymore, don't respond to burglary/break-ins...but plenty of time to write...jaywalking...tickets?

    Interesting.

Youve lost me. You're estimating that each officer is writing a dozen tickets an hour, with 6 hours on site, so a total of 144 tickets a day, correct?

Most jurisdictions don't respond to vehicle accidents anymore, don't respond to burglary/break-ins...

Do you have a source for the second half of this?

If this was about money why were so many warnings given?

That theory falls apart very quickly.

LOL! That's hilarious. The businesses are one of the biggest reasons cops were there. The Ped and bikes screw up traffic and make it a place many people avoid. The cops were responding to complaints from the businesses. Kudos on the continued fat shaming by the way.

Didn't make the Olympics due to injury

She looks more pathetic every time that picture is posted. Not in a sympathetic way either.

Poor little spoiled trophy-wife-in-training. Around here, reaching full status via marrying money for the boob job, they jog the middle of a traffic lane while burning buns, daring anyone to run over them. Then, climbing into the Lexus with iPhone to ear, endanger you, your kid, and your dog on a leash on the sidewalk.

Cops would have done society a favor by rewarding the egocentric tantrum by bitch slapping her like momma should have.

Sadly, there's way too much truth in that post.

Gonna find my video of Pink singing "Stupid Girls". Seems appropriate.

She should be arrested even if she was on the sidewalk. I can't tell you how many times I have almost wrecked my truck from 20 something year old female joggers, jogging on the sidewalks. That shit is dangerous.

Whatever side you're on, one thing is for sure: This whole thing was a terrible idea for the fact alone it makes APD look very bad. Whether what they did was legal or not this is a PR disaster for them and there's no way they're going to come out looking good in the eyes of most people.
