    SLB is laying off ALOT! I was there for 4 years and was a very experienced operator, and was laid off on the 13th of march. There were even operators there longer than me that were also laid off. Im gonna scratch the oilfield off my job search, too much drama and wanna be know it alls.

    Word on the street is that the rebound will begin in January. I can't reveal my sources. Make it until then and you will be fine. Between now and then it will get worse.

    Rebound means oil going way up again or the business leveling off so that they can plan for growth again?

    Shale is expensive to produce. Middle East has a market called Asia, regardless of price. Those two factors don't bode a quick recovery, especially with our increasing lack of leadership, and wrongheadedness in MidEast policy.

    It will come back, if we survive to see it...

    Was laid off 2 weeks ago made a phone call got back into my old vocation again no worries oilfield was fun while it lasted and I enjoyed the money if I do it again I'll go with a plan to save more money. I'm lucky I only bought a Harley while I was n out there and so far I think I'm gonna be able to keep it.

    Smart man.
    Went through three "boom and bust" Oil & Gas business cycles in Texas since the 60's.
    Lived to tell about it because I kept one foot in another economic sector.
    It hurt, but wasn't terminal.
