your a bigger racist for calling me a racist

I wasn't calling you a racist. I was correcting your misuse of the word 'your'.

It would be much more accurate to call me a crimeist. I dislike criminals no matter what their color. I hate criminals who put lives in danger and I specifically hate the mentality that said dumbass was a "good man", "about to turn his life around", "about to start GED classes" etc...

    Cbig and others...

There are many people on this site who generally trust police and believe the police side of a story when it comes out.
There are also many people who generally distrust police and rarely believe anything they say.
Then some are in the middle.
I consider myself a middle of the line guy. I generally trust police, but when they step over the line, I believe they should be held acccountable and not be given any special treatment. I also believe that they step over the line too many times and are not beyond covering up for others.

I'm about to step into a sensitive area here....With the above being said, I don't know about NYC, but here in Austin, I truly believe that many in the African-American community fall into the first category. They place so much distrust in police that any time a young African-Amercian man is shot by police, they immediately get up in arms and protest. That is fine and dandy. That is their right. That probably does a lot of good, because it forces officers to be very cognizant that every time they shoot at a civilian, they will be questioned and investigated heavily. But on the other hand, it does result in a lot of people having the opinion that they "cry wolf" too often, before knowing the facts and sometimes defending people who are in the wrong. I am not trying to be insensitive or piss you off Cbig (because I consider you a gun guy and therefore somebody like me), but a lot of people (myself included to some extent) develop that opinion. The problem is that the "cry wolf" response by the African-American community results in a lot of people automatically dismissing any shooting of a black man as a justified shooting. I am sure we can all agree that not every young black man who has ever been shot has been some thug deserving it.

I don't believe that either side of this debate is filled with racists, only people who develop their opinions because of what they have seen and their belief system. I would encourage both sides here to avoid labeling each other as racists. While we all have prejudices, the racist is the man who will not like somebody of another color no matter what kind of person they are. I don't think there are many of those people (if any) on this forum.

TXARGUY... I can not remember a time when somebody did not get in front of a camera, and speak nothing put praise for these little ghetto willies. They were all wonderful little lambs. Till they are knocking someone they care about in the head. I once watched a cop chase this black kid with a gun in his hand down a street. A womenlooking out of a window watching he same action opens her trap and shouts "dont hurt him". Really?!?!

Kind of puzzling, if this is true. And if it is, and the media are completely blowing over it, they are even more corrupt than I have ever thought they were (and I consider them a pretty corrupt group).

Mic.. Speak truth and you never can "piss me off". The truth is black people are stupid (generally speaking), and will always find themselves on the back of the bus. This is the only group i know of in this country that celebrate the same people that would be raping there mothers, drugging there, daughters, and killing there sons. These are the same people giving shout outs to those in the jails; telling them "to keep there head up". Keep your head up?!?! This is the same guy that harmed someone that looks like you. But everything is whitey fault. This is why i say im Polynesian..

    There i said it

It's not the black community. It's the ghetto community. It's the mentality. I've seen the same thing happen in majority white ghetto communities and in majority Hispanic ghetto communities

I think that one facet that tends to make the black community stick out from the others is the plethora of 'ministers' who are so eager to step in front of a news camera and claim to represent the entire community. While most of these 'ministers' I believe are only grasping the opportunity for their 10 minutes there are others who have real hatred in their hearts and go before the cameras with the full intention of doing as much damage to race relations as they possibly can. Racism is big business in some circles. That is why I believe that racism is not dead today; it's because it's been put on life support.
