I don't think the legislature has set a definition for retention levels. I'm not even sure that we have truly standardized the definition of the retention levels.

If they keep the retention level language they will have to define what they mean.

Yes. Absent a clear definition, enforcement and compliance will be hit or miss. And I'm sure some local jurisdictions will come up with a "standard" that will ensure they can prosecute pretty much anyone they want to.

Right. Basically the dems want police style holsters with 1 or 2 retention devices. Im wildly interested to see if the senate votes to suspend their rules and vote this week.

It would be nice to get the vote and move on. That said, the house and Strauss still have to get involved and process things through their side of the legislature.

Hopefully brighter minds will prevail and we won't get into the retention level crap. Those that think it's a good idea need to think it through based on the fact that there is no industry standard of numerical retention. I'm fine with the simple requirement of a shoulder or belt holster.

    I'm fine with "Holster".

And I had a thought yesterday when I walked into a restaurant, had the blue "unlicensed possession of a weapon" TABC sign. I know most of us want constitutional carry to pass, but if licensed carry does pass, we can OC in places with the blue TABC sign. Just a thought.

There's a word I'll definately have to add to my lexicon.

I take back everything I said about getting back on topic. This language war is just too entertaining. RED LINES ARE BEING DRAWN!

Seriously, though- sorry if I ruffled your feqthers with my usual antics and nonsense, Matefrio. And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Abbott rocks! I'm so stoked to have a governor that's not pandering to the liberals focused in Austin and knows the open-ended demographics of the entire state. That said, I will begin open carry the second this passes because Texas, being the Republic it is, needs not follow the liberal ways of CA, FL, SC, NY, or IL.

Might be careful with that. It probably won't actually go in to effect until Sept 1st.
