Years ago, like 60 or more, I ate these itty-bitty White Castle burgers that to do this day I remember were out of this world delicious, washed down with something call Birch Beer, which kinda/sorts tastes like Root Beer, but better.

The only thing they put on them was fried onions and lots of em...gawd they good.

If memory serves correct they cost 20 cents and the Birch Beer was 5 cents.

    White Castle??

I could not even finish one. As bad as McDonald's.

Just thought of two places everyone needs to try.

The Original Shack in Cyoress. (Can't remember if I mentioned it). Really good, and some interesting combos. I had a burger with rib meat on it. Their cheese fries with brisket are darn tasty.

The best, and I mean best burger I've had. And this from a guy who plans vacations around places to eat BBQ and burgers at. Is Kenny's Burgers. There are two, Frisco on Legacy just north of 121. And in Lakeside in Plano at Preston and Spring Creek. I generally go to the Preston location because parking is better.

#1 fav, chili cheese burger. Messy, so skip the bun and have them put it on sweet potato fries. Great combo.

#2 fav, queso burger comes with grilled onions, jalapeños, white queso. Skip the bun and get it on regular fries. It's crazy good.

They have a good beer selection too.

    Man, that looks tasty.

The White Castle burgers I ate -I did mention it was over 60 years ago when I ate them and either my taste buds weren't very sophisticated (likely) or their quality has dropped, which has happened so often in every category I'm not terribly disappointed anymore almost about anything I pay money for.

    I miss the 50's.

White Castles were decent if you were broke, stupid drunk & had them occasionally. Then again McDonald's were decent enough to eat once a week back in the day.

The chili with spf is an amazing flavor combo. Got it on accident once, and tried it. I always get the spf with the chili burger now.

I need to try Maple and Motor. I pass by it pretty often. They have some Pizza place nearby I wanna try too

In Dallas Maple and Motor is the best I’ve found followed closely by Beck’s prime.

Ftw is Fred’s and Rodeo Goat.

I don’t get the In n Out love. It’s mediocre at best and their fries are terrible.

You gotta ask for the fries "well done", then they're nice and crispy, and anything less than a double double is just a fast food burger. Part of what I like about In n' Out is that it's clean, well run, the staff is dressed in uniforms, (not t-shirts), They look you in they eye and talk directly to you, and they can actually count change.

In-N-Out fries are best very fresh, but they are cut from potatoes by the employees in store. No beef broth added like at least one fast food chain does. Their spread sauce goes great with fries and we sometimes mix with ketchup. I sometimes get the burger protein style which is a lettuce wrap instead of a bun.

    A small chain called Walkons has some pretty decent burgers. {Just NEVER eat their "cajun" food. EVER.}

Cajun means burnt, blackened and/or way over seasoned at some places.
