Subbing this thread. I'm 42 and my Dr. is sending me to the butt probe.
I drink and smoke but I eat well and exercise regularly and I'm in pretty damn good shape for my age to the point where I look 10 - 15 years younger than most of my high school classmates.
I won't go into gory detail but I've been experiencing 6 of the 6 symptoms of colon cancer.
Soooo... It's off to the anal probe at 42 for me. So much for the "recommended" screening at 50.

I got time. My doc only has me come in for a basic physical every 2 years. It's bad enough having a guy with a beard fondle your privates. This would take it to the next level.

Ya- they fill your asshole with air to expand the folds in your colon. Afterwards you have to fart it out. Guys- the bus thing, what if it doesn't kill you? What if you can't fight back and they decide to use the biggest HD colon scope they could find without anesthesia?

Had a camera go up my urethra once. Scope is about the thickness of a pencil.
Doc (male) only had two hands and needed the nurse to hold my member while he looked though the scope.
No fewer than three other nurses came into the room to get "something" or ask the doctor something during the procedure.
My only thought is that I was the youngest (late 20s) they'd seen in a long time.

I'll be 56 in December and had my first pipeline inspection in January.
I heard all the horror stories and dreaded it to no end.
Don't believe everything you read ... except for this, of course ...
The night before ... metamucil mixed with 50/50 water and gatorade.
Visited the head twice.
Walked into the clinic at 0900, became heavily medicated and I was home by 1100, napped a while and was good to go that evening.
