I spent almost an hour trying to buy this gun on Bud's site. Entered my bank info and everything they asked. I never could get a delivered price. All I could get was the $349. For $3 bucks they add insurance but that's as far as I could get. Even asked their chat and they could not tell me.https://www.budsgunshop.com/mobile/product/34511/mossberg+88+field/security+combo+12+ga+28"+&+185"+barrel
Ok, here is what you should buy right now.
this one is priced great, comes with 2 barrels. Get it and be done!
I'll do a little research and get back with you. Not familiar with a Mossberg 870.Op I got a spare security length 870. Got it new and never shot it. Only reason I’m bringing it up is I’m always open to trades if something catches my attention.
No, remington 870I'll do a little research and get back with you. Not familiar with a Mossberg 870.
Sent you a PM (I think) lolNo, remington 870
I have a plethora of them in x amount of rooms. Can’t complainTrying to find a suitable inexpensive gun for home defense. I'm already invested fairly deep in guns but not what I consider home defense.
Is this Mossberg pump a reliable shooter or would a semi-auto be a better choice?
I tried searching the forum but did not find this particular Mossberg.

With this Mossberg 88 they want us to pay $30 bucks to join their club or they won't sell you the gun. I had checked on a Stevens gun and it was priced low enough that joining their club wasn't mandatory. Still would not give a total before actually paying. Crazy! And I'm not sure I want the Stevens. Would rather have Sam7sf Remington 870!Bud's site has been like that lately on other things I've been checking on as well. It won't let me get passed choosing method of payment.

See my post 17. Sometimes you buy ammo and then the gun. Use ammoseek and be prepared to pay over $1 per round.Found this Mossberg 52150 at Academy this morning. And even got their veterans discount. I bet it will get the home defense job done. Holds 9 shots! Unfortunately I now have a gun with no ammo. Academy was out of anything suitable for home defense.
Probably should have but this is a 500 and yours an 88. Don't know the difference other than this one holds 9 rounds.Shoulda bought mine! It came with two boxes of buckshot!
Yes, and when you can find the lead buck shot. It should be available soon.See my post 17. Sometimes you buy ammo and then the gun. Use ammoseek and be prepared to pay over $1 per round.
It's there now, just not cheap. 00 and #4 buckYes, and when you can find the lead buck shot. It should be available soon.
As noted above I purchased a 500 part number 52150 this morning at Academy. This was the last home defense gun they had. It holds 9 rounds! To the OP:
The #31023 is a great smoothbore shotgun that can be fitted with a field barrel for hunting or clays.
But IMO, the #31046, or #31048 is slightly better for home defense.
Adds two more shells to the mix.
So far I'm not even finding any. Maybe I could use the gun to hit them over the head! It's there now, just not cheap. 00 and #4 buck
