Large calibers are great hunting guns. Go for it!

It is the best brush round you can get. Even over a 30-30. The round will drive through small brush and not tumble before hitting the target. I use an 1895 Marlin lever action with iron sights and a 405 gr. solid round and have killed some nice hogs and deer in the thickets here in East Texas.
