A simple blockade would be enough. But, China doesn't have enough ships to maintain an effective one out of the range of Taiwan's weapons.
No one internationally would stand for that even as weak as rotting oatmeal brains is, we would steam past and China would know they couldnt ACTUALLY do anything, much like our freedom of navigation flights.

A very well known and successful attorney was killed by a .25ACP. He raised his hand to block the shot and the bullet entered under his armpit and sliced his heart, I don’t want to be shot with anything.
I didn't know any attorney was respectful, I'm glad you didn't go there...

    Re your edit:

What is China going to do to Taiwan?

An amphibious force would be sunk incredibly fast, an airborne assault would meet the same fate. China simply does not have the experience, training or technology to launch an Overlord sized invasion.

I believe that many Formosans actually work in China, and their Families are split b/t the two nations.

Taiwan is critically important to the tech-world, & for us all militarily.

The enmities are ancient, we in the outside world know them only since Mao ousted General Chiang

Madame Chiang was educated here in Louisiana, spoke fluent English & French. She was very influential in getting the USA involved in the great Asia War long before Pearl Harbor was attacked.

I surely wish we had stronger leaders now !

    EDIT for ‘’correction’’: see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soong_Mei-ling

Although she was a legend in LA, this reference does not even mention her time at Tulane U’s ‘’Sophie Newcomb College’’, its prior women’t undergrad division. leVieux

Back to Israel being attacked, about halfway down this link to Town Hall is a video posted by Marina Medvin on X, where some Israelis talk about what they found when they went into the houses of the people who were murdered by hamas terrorists. My hearing is terribly bad, but I think he says it's just the first house they went into. Those who love and back hamas won't think much of it, it's just another day of business for terrorists. For those of us who love and back Israel, this is a clear and disturbing account of how heartless the hamas scumbags are. Caution for those with a heart and soul.

Typical merciless and underhanded tactics from people who believe everyone not of their religion is an animal in human form created to serve them.
    Clarify, please.

Are you referring to Israel or Hamas?

Not difficult to understand why Egypt and the rest of the Arab world has shut out the Palestinians. Too bad we're not that intelligent.

Denmark brought in 300+ Palestinian refugees back in the 90s, over 64% of them ended up with criminal records:

and we all know policing well enough to know that the ones you catch/successfully prosecute are a small fraction of the ones that are actually engaging in criminal activity.

    ’’Liberalism’’ is their religion !

    The Statist-Fascist type of liberaliism.

    ’’Liberalism is a mental disorder!’’

Oh, wait, you are asking about ‘’Islam’’ ?

As for the Jews in Israel; recall that they disarmed their own at-risk innocents to invite a barbaric Islamist attack, as we recently saw.

Our World is erupting in widespread wars, and those are not coincidences !

Our only TRUE safety is in an armed & alert US Citizenry !

I'm honestly trying to wrap my head around both sides here, so in addition to Ben's question, where is it that this idea derives from?

Drones, like airplanes, can’t hold ground no matter how persistent they loiter. They are really, really useful though.
They can take out naval forces if fired in adequate numbers. They can overwhelm air base defenses. Remove air cover (naval or land based) and something has been accomplished. This can enable ground forces to take and hold ground.

We could or we would? Huge difference.

I can see the liberals now: "Oh no. We can't go through there. We might spark WW3 and besides we can settle this peacefully through talks".

    Like I said, they’re useful. They aren’t a panacea.

China deploys six warships to Middle East over fears Israel crisis could spark WW3

The Chinese military has deployed its 44th naval escort task force to the Middle East amid rising tensions in Israel.

Add: Small off topic tangent. If I was Xi, contemplating a move against Taiwan, first thing I'd do is send a fleet in next to the US's ships. That way, when... yeah. You can figure the rest out easily.

China's naval power isn't exactly great, and they've only got a single operational aircraft carrier. Those Chinese ships won't be much use if they decide to get sporty - two carrier groups in the region would have little difficulty making them rethink that decision, though the larger implications might cause our boys to hold back. Sinking a Wish.com navy vessel could spark something larger, but it could also give China pause if they do plan on trying something with Taiwan. Their largest threat to us besides economical would be their nuclear weapons.

And the next time I read about Israel bombing (so-called) holy places, I'll remember that the Palestinians use them to stage terrorist attacks:

Hamas does not believe in "civilians" they use what we would call a civilian for one of three things:
    - A soft target
    - A means of support
    - A means of protection

Likewise, they do not respect the holy places or hospitals. They use them as a means of support or protection knowing they can make noise that "Jews damaged a mosque/hospital" and the majority of the world will condemn the "attack on a sacred site" despite the fact they were using it for a means to wage war. Hamas respects sacred sites like hospitals and churches like a rapist respects bodily autonomy.

    Dear community,

This is not exactly a political post, it's just me trying to vent after many sleepless nights and continuous agony by getting some information out, since it seems like most people are unaware of the severity of what's going on in Israel, and the potential of historical magnitude we might experience in the following weeks / months.

I'm not sure what type of coverage takes place in the media, I'm assuming that some of it is shared to a degree, but if you haven't heard - 10/07 brought a well planned, tactical terrorist strike in Israel, in a magnitude we've yet to see since the holocaust.
Hamas & Iran operatives went deep into Israeli civilian cities and performed atrocious, inhuman acts
(EXTREME VIOLENCE TRIGGER WARNING, CONSIDER SKIPPING THIS SECTION)
    (***************************************************************************************)
    .
    .
    ,
that included shooting babies point blank & beheading several of them, torturing families and making kids watch it live, burning down entire families, murdering a 70+ y/o woman and uploading images to her family facebook accounts, raping women followed by execution / kidnap, kidnapping civilians and parading them naked in the streets, parading a 6y/o boy while the crowd spits & beats him in the streets, rounding up 250 teenagers during a peace festival and executing them - and the list goes on and on.
    .
    .
    (***************************************************************************************)
Needless to say, these are acts of pure, raw, unhinged EVIL. ISIS grade atrocities. Even the Nazis weren't as cruel.
It's important for me to note: these are not "hear-says" nor "rumors" - many of these actions were publicly, proudly published & celebrated by Hamas, and unfortunately many of my friends had to see the aftermath in person.

Over 1,000 civilians murdered, ~200 kidnapped, the body toll is still incomplete. Hundreds of soldiers gave up their lives trying to protect & extract civilians from the massacre.

My family got it off rather "easy", only one cousin wounded in combat and should be able to walk again next year. Some of my friends - not as lucky. One got his niece kidnapped, another has more than 50 friends dead. If you know an Israeli person, I can pretty much guarantee they've sustained casualties in their 2nd circle, "best case" scenario. Many will report back with 1st circle casualties.

Although I'm an ex-israeli ex-navy person, I do want to acknowledge that Israel is in an ongoing conflict, and that while I do not agree with Hamas (obviously..) - I can understand why they'd attack soldiers or even shoot missiles. Again, understand, not justify. I do not agree with all of Israel's policies & actions, and feel like there are many things that should have happened differently. I do not enjoy seeing civilians dead, whether they're Israeli or Palestinian, jewish muslim or christian. We should celebrate life and always strive to do best by our neighbors.

That said, there is absolutely no justification of the acts depicted above. And there's no way to deal with the Hamas threat while they're hiding underground, in hospitals, schools, etc.
Hamas proved to be the new ISIS, and they're not just butchering civilian jews, they're causing a huge death toll within their own people too. Sick, psychopathic strategy. They WANT Israel to bombard their people, this makes me sick to my stomach.

During the next few weeks we'll be hearing about the middle east conflict, some misguided people will consider this to be politics, so that's why I took my time to try and share with you what is going on. I've seen an American celebrating Hamas's acts on Facebook today, proudly describing how he enjoyed hearing about dead civilians when he work up - and couldn't believe how deeply misguided some people can be.
There is no justification for torturing, killing & mutilating civilians point blank.

Please consider looking into the factual evidence before making a judgement, please pray for the lives of all civilians involved, please stand by Israel as they're fighting OUR fight against terror - because we all know that terror has the tendency to expand if it's not properly put down.
Israel really, direly, needs your support right now. Even if you don't care for Israel, its people, heritage or just the middle eastern never ending b/s - from a purely tactical approach, we need to stand up against terrorism.

I wish all of you a peaceful weekend, I hope I did not cause anyone distress or discomfort.
