I mean this in a way to be helpful.

Google or follow some of the links found throughout these threads and read up. That way these things won't be a surprise.

As I said before, I don't trust what the media says because they have an interest in making their story better than their competitors.

I don't trust what the gov says for obvious reasons.

Research it yourself. Know the facts. Don't wait until the gov decides your ready to know and don't try to decipher what is accurate from all the BS the media will be spewing.

The good news is that Duncan's family is still negative.

Change the word good to ironic. We keep getting told that we're not some third world country and Ebola can't take off here, yet the folks who came from a third world country and were locked inside a house with all these bodily fluids we keep hearing about have so far been safe. Our first world medial staff is faring much worse.

Bad news is WHO just railed on CDC for not pointing out 5% of Ebola cases have up to 48 day incubation.

Haven't heard that yet, but am really not surprised at this point. I guess next they'll tell us the disease is can be contagious before symptoms are present.

    From another Forum just
    now.....

"the 2nd Nurse, Amber Vinson, was on a plane from Cleveland to Dallas on Mon the 13th. Her symptoms appeared the next day."

So hopefully it is not another one.

Latest is the symptoms were present when she was on the flight.

The more that comes out about how Duncan was handled and the policies of the hospital and CDC the more I shake my head at just how stupid we are as a society.

I agree. It's like watching a bad horror film and yelling at the folks on the screen to not do that, because everyone knows what will happen if they do. Yet they do it anyway.

Was told by a reliable source that a local hospital has converted a whole floor into isolation "rooms"

    Local to where?

    Put people in isolation rooms...WHY?

The Dallas Nurse SHOULD NOT have been on the plane...WHY? You just said it was OK.

    NOT making sense.

Seems strange how it's ok to quarantine the folks in Duncans apartment, but not the seventy some odd health workers who were exposed as the illness got even worse. Especially considering some of the stories coming out about the lack of training or preparedness for this.

Cdc approved chic to fly....omg wtf

At a loss for words here. Can't think of any reasonable explanation for this. I think even the conspiracy types are scratching their head at this one.

"Tin foil hat wearer" here, I'm angry as hell but not the least bit surprised to be perfectly honest. I think this is well beyond pure bunglery at this point.

The CDC flew her on private jet to Atlanta for treatment at a more equipped hospital. She was put in a suit along with medical staff also in protective suits.

She flew on a commercial flight from Cleveland to Dallas while exhibiting symptoms. This was before she got the Air Ebola 1 flight to Atlanta.

    Exactly.

This is why people need to actually start checking things before going all. "OMG" about it.

I don't think the CDC knew she was flying around the country.

She called them prior to her boarding the flight and they said that since her fever wasn't over 100.5 degrees that she was cleared. This is very troubling.

    Here's the quote:

"Amber Vinson, the second Dallas nurse diagnosed with Ebola, called the CDC a number of times ahead of her Frontier Airlines flight. She had a 99.5-degree fever, but the CDC said it was OK for her to board the plane since her fever wasn’t 100.5 degrees or higher."

Wasn't aware if that, I apologize for the other remark.

Figure there are two possible scenarios.

1: the CDC is actually that stupid and we better hope they find someone with a brain or there will be many unneeded deaths.

Or 2: Patient 2 wasn't completely clear about who she was or the contact she had had with patient zero.

In either case, patient two doesn't make sense. Who, after being in direct contact with and caring for an Ebola patient, doesn't go straight back in to the hospital to be tested again if they even sneeze funny?

This woman was running a light fever and ignored it, then decided to fly back while running a fever of 103? She must be a complete moron!

As I said before, I believe she should face criminal negligence charges should anyone she came in to contact with begin showing symptoms.

IMO, yes. It's called eugenics, we started this nasty practice and Hitler glommed onto it and used it to gain his power. It might be much more underground than it was in the 30s but I have mo doubt it is still alive here. Smaller populations are easier to control, simple fact.

No worries at all. I just think this whole situation is completely insane; and it just proves that if/when the SHTF we're on our own, because the people who are supposed to be protecting us...ain't.
