This is on the lighter side but it's still related to training. Ever wonder why people turn up to classes with all sorts of weird notions of how to do things? Maybe it has something to do with what they see in the media (including trainer promo vids, but that's far more serious than I intend for this discussion).

For example, I'm a geek/nerd/<insert pejorative> and thus at least aware of the long-running British fantasy television series Dr. Who. One of the spin-offs of Dr. Who is Torchwood. In that series, a policewoman has been recruited into a small group that deals with aliens and alien technology. Since she had no training with firearms in the police the leader at her new job takes on the task and turns her into an expert in one session. It would be hard to come up with a definitive list of all the things wrong in that one scene.

This is my nomination for most firearms-ignorant scene ever filmed.

This one is hard to top but does anybody have any other nominations?

What was with the old school gamer headsets, lol?
They looked like non-functional mock-ups to me. I didn't notice any cords leading to radios, etc. I figured they had a couple of sets of muffs laying around so the prop guy just attached some mic parts from the spares bin.

I was thinking that as well, but what was the purpose of the microphones?
Dunno. Appeal to an ignorant British public who might think that without electronics, they wouldn't have been able to talk?

Wow; that's layering compensating stupidity atop a foundation of stupidity. The scene gets worse every time I see it. ;)

That's probably how they trained back when Britain actually allowed people to own handguns. Maybe a "firearms consultant" from WWII.

I do like the dual wielding. That's a fairly awesome technique. It's how I roll, but with G18s.
